If Gameiro doesn't pick up a new deal at SFC would he be good pick up? Is recovering from an ACL injury and unlucky the previous season with injury. Out of the HAL players coming off contract, wouldn't mind picking up Faty and Gameiro actually.

Don't see him coming back here; he didn't like his first stint in Wellington and Sydney rate him highly.

Out of that list, I would pick up Georgievski, Osama Malik and perhaps Archie.

However, I'd be shocked if Ernie didn't pick up one of Ruka or Mate. They are his kinds of players.

First Gameiro stint was before the Ernster though...

I'm not sure we're covered at fullback.

It's silly to play Manny at left back when he's right-footed.

Fenton doesn't seem like the defensive goods to be at right-back.

I suppose we could get by with Doyle at left back and Manny at right back, though it looks like Manny's best days are behind him.

Basically we need someone like Boxall?

Now him I wouldn't mind. A consistently good A League CB. Only problem is he is 32 and I think we need someone quite a bit younger than that.

Sam Gallagher could be another option (Yeah I know he played for the Jets :P)

In an ideal world, we should be aiming for younger but there just isn't the options around.

Glory have sold off their back up keeper, Jack Duncan and rumours are they are gonna release Vukovic to join the Victory. I wonder if they will end up ask us about letting them have Italiano back?

Georgievski in and hope Doyle comes good?

Could happen, Ernie would have had a lot of time to work with Doyle by the time the new season kicks off, and look how that helped Krishna last year

Prediction: Fenton will be one of the best right backs in the league next season.

Came on in leaps and bounds after an injury free run this year.

Agree, Fenton is a great young player and is getting better every year. Ernie even trust him to play midfield, he must rate him very high.

Does Fenton need to be settled in one position to develop? Or is he good enough to move positions and not be too fussed?

How does everyone reckon he went in midfield? People reckoned he kept his head down too much. Is that still true?

Don't we want 'better Boxall'? The ultimate ball tall physically imposing playing speed demon full-back centre back defensive mid covering player? on an Aussie or Kiwi passport

My subjective impression is that it is not so much to do with his skills but that he is a bit tentative regarding his shoulders. What I see is that he is a bit gun-shy coming in into a physical challenge.

He is a promising young player that needs to muscle up in the offseason to regain his on-field confidence.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Still think Taylor Regan is worth a shout.

I always thought that Taylor Regan sounded like the name of a female teen pr0n star.

Then I google him to see if there's other clubs sniffing around and I see a news story saying that he won Newcastle's "Members Award" this year. Hmmmm...

Both him & Virgili are hoping to re-join the FFA Jets if they dump Stubbins as the coach.

Jason Davidson and Franjic are available - both upgrades on our FBs but at the pricey end.

Would love him but not sure we could match what City will be offering him, Melbourne boy as well.

Maybe if he was a couple of years younger? He was an outstanding talent a few years ago but probably not worth looking at unless he stands out at state league level.

He just turned 23.

Exactly, at that age he probably needs to be proven ready to play at A-League level to be worth taking a squad spot.

Definitely. Would free up the import spot for a CB/LB too.

Yeah, MacLaren is still really young, good goal scoring record, more of a CF than anyone in our squad, seems like an Ernie signing. It looks like he's gearing up for a protracted contract battle with Glory too, a la WeeMac last year.

I think he'll definitely get out of Perth, much like Vukovic - but will likely end up at WSW or Melb.

I had thought Jurman already had re-signed with Sydney but it doesn't appear that he has yet. Could he be the CB from another A-League club hinted at by Patrick?

I'm actually not sure that we are signing a CB from another ALeague club, I heard that we are signing players from other clubs and I assumed that meant a CB. I'm probably completely wrong and it'll be yet another attacking mid.
