Put it this way. I will no longer be hitting the Boxing Day Sales at Charlestown Square...

The Sunday games are late as fudge, long drive home for me, but at least there are only two of them.

I kind of hoped we would get more Friday night games as they are the easiest for me (the only ones I can drink at) and the easiest for me to get others a long to.

A well, it could have been worse I guess.

I hope to make both AK games and the Tron game. If Welnix are smart they'll make available a membership option which gives discounts on less than six but more than one games.

Yea, and this quote says they are playing every team in Wellington which would make a round 22 game vs Perth at QBE incorrect, but would work if the QBE game was vs Melbourne City

“Given the complexity of the draw this year with a number of stadia throughout the A-League unavailable this season, we are pleased we’ve got pretty much a home-away pattern and will play every A-League side at least once in Wellington. http://www.wellingtonphoenix.com/article/wellingt...

We're not playing Wanderers in Wellington either.

Who comes up with those things?!

That's really bad. Either a 6.35am or 9.45am flight on the 3rd or 4th with almost 9 hours of flying and up to 4 hours in airports. Pretty tough doing recovery in that schedule let alone any other work.

Not sure how I feel about 2 extra games away from Wellington compared to last year. Good to get more people around the country interested I guess and Hamilton would allow me to fit in an extra visit to my parents (in Te Awamutu). Wonder if season ticket prices are likely to take into account the increased travel and accommodation costs to attend all the home games?

I've been a massive advocate of an 07 visit but it's been scheduled during my first overseas trip scheduled during the season since the Phoenix started.  Fudge you Kharma.

Worth pointing out that one of the Sunday games is Labour Weekend, so that's pretty good.

It is only one less game in Wgtn compared to last season (14 home games this season, 13 last). So it's not as bad as I first imagined

Bit hard to play over December when the pitch is being resurfaced

I did this table and also included dates away between home games and home games at Westpac

Yeah, not Nix or FFA fault. Westpac can't have any games on in December as it is being resurfaced. Why the two "home" games are Hamilton and Auckland then.

The turf at the Stadium is being re-laid in December.

Bet the team will be happy given they will have been on the road since November the 19th.Just dont see how the friggen FFA can throw metrics down our throats when we get shafted like this.Again

Probably easier for them to do the travelling circus and get 2 games in Auckland than to do that again

Completely agree. Makes it worse when you consider one of the Auckland games clashes with a Black Caps games in Auckland. Obviously stadium availability plays a part, but it still gets to me

Travel and accommodation 2 weekends in a row at already the most expensive time of the year for most people (the 2 weekends before Xmas) is not going to be doable for a lot of season ticket holders I'd imagine.

Guess they are the closest venues to Wellington.FFS lets just bend over and let them give it to us again.Solutioms were found before so the only one this time is to take them that far away.Dont get how they expect a team to perform when they keep them on the road for so long.Ernie expressed his displeasure last year at the length of time they were on the road for,Guess we wont hear his honest opinion.

Great for all of you who can travel or live in those areas but there are more than a few who cant do this and in the year that should be a celebration of 10 years it just dosnt feel like it for me.

Given RoF unavailable, what alternatives are there?

The closest venue to Wellington would probably be the Ring of Dirt.

Almost a game every fortnight for the majority of the season - with December and March not being great due to pitch resurfacing or away home games.

Express Football Special Calling At

Fratton Park - Champion Hill - Kiwitea St

And all away grounds inbetween.

I think with the Hutt Wreck, we got support from the Hutt City Council and extra funding with the sponsor rights to do that. I think it is easy for the Nix to take it on the road than do that again.

Don't know, Hutt Rec again maybe or Palmerston North or somewhere else a bit closer to Wellington? Maybe somewhere driveable that wouldn't have to require flights and hotels for one of those games? Not saying it's anyone's fault that RoF is out, just that it's a bit rough on the regular match goers that it's 2 consecutive weekends, then Christmas the following weekend with all the expense that comes with (and more possible travel etc to see family elsewhere).

So what football fan arsewipe thought that a good way to support the club would be to resurface Wetspot? Isn't Spring the time to do that? September or October?

Have we been shafted by the stadium, you would have thought given that we are one of their regular users that the turf being done would not have been done in the middle of our season.Maybe there are reasons but does seem at a breif glance that its us thats been shafted. Think there will be plenty of Rent A Crowd in attendance to make it look okay.
