Yeah hopefully new start and all that.

I guess you don't represent Italy through the Age groups if you are a mug.

With Dura's Italian Background, do we know call our CB's the Mafioso?

His face seems to be a magnet for fists.

Bet he's glad Muscat and Griffiths aren't in the league anymore.

Hopefully he can get Berisha to spark up

From what I can see through google translate - he was done for failing to report alleged match fixing (not actually match fixing). Same as Conte (who had his ban halved on appeal)

Not happy with this signing to be honest.

His pedigree is excellent and no doubt he will improve our team considerably, but he's a cheat. He knew what was happening, but didn't say anything. For a club which prides itself on a positive community image this will harm that hard work.

Bad Call!!

Can you be sure of that? He was never charged by the italian FA.

To me, this is our most exciting signing since Ifill - this guy looks like a proper player

Great signing. Pleased by this.

Right back now? or has Ernie done his business?

This looks a great signing.

Any highlight clips which do not include him falling over/diving?

Not sure how I feel about this to be honest. From a purely on field point of view I think he ticks all the boxes but there's a pretty massive elephant in the room. Having said that I think there's the issues around match fixing and integrity cut deep into Italian football and these periodic scandals are just window dressing by the authorities looking for scapegoats.

By way of a comparison, Brendon McCullum didn't report Chris Cairns approaching him to spot fix cricket games for a couple of years after the fact and he's been hailed as a hero for speaking out when he did. If that is all Rossi did (not report fixing) then I think he deserves a chance at redemption at the very least.

If he was never charged... why was he suspended?

He plead to get a lesser charge / punishment. You don't do that if innocent.

We need another defender definitely, more like 2.  Our defence is awful - we saw when Sigmund was injured last year how flaky our back 4 is and we have lost Manny since then, with Rossi it is passable but if he got injured...

You do it if you don't want to get killed by the mafia for dobbing them in (which is a genuine concern in this situation)

Or the organization charging you is going to make a scapegoat out of you regardless

Yeah this! Mafia was involved and probably hard for him to fight the charges too.

I feel better about his background if it was for not reporting others and not actually doing the fixing himself.

I think this is positive. Now we just need a starting right back and a defensive mid. Personally I'm trusting in ernie but if a rod hasn't earned a starting spot by now and Vinnie is our go to maybe we need to release him to get that spot freed up to bring in a defensive mid that will work for us. It sucks as  I really like a rod but if ernie doesn't see him as a starter we need someone for that role.

Fenton and Ridenton are not fullbacks. We need someone who is actually suited to the role rather than a young guy being shoehorned in. Needs to be a kiwi or Aussie though

Ernie said he is still looking for people to replace Muscat, Riera and Powell.

Still quite a bit to do eh?  Probably the biggest squad shakeup we have had in the past 5 years - pretty exciting.  The first XI is looking really good.  I can see us playing slightly differently, with Kosta potentially we may not need so much width and attacking threat from our full backs.  I'm backing Krishna to have a huge season, I think he is going to score a hat load this year

Exciting signing! If the whole match fixing scandal hadn't stunted his career, I wonder where he would be playing...

Now to sign some depth and launch a crack at the title!

If Ernies happy with him, I'm happy with him. Couldn't give two sharks what he's done in the past, I only care about what he's going to do in the next couple of seasons

An area in which we've needed strengthening for a while, so it's an exciting prospect. Hopefully he settles in well.

He quite literally cannot be worse than what we have and the potential upside is huge.  Dura and Siggie were at their best 5 years ago
