Previous years have had a ton of delays... but with the new membership system this year, lets hope they are more organised. Won't be till after the kits are released on Sept 23 I imagine.
The friendly against Phoenix was played in three 45-minute periods. The Jets struck first through a stunning volley by Reno Piscopo. Archie Goodwin converted the Jets' second from a penalty before Jason Hoffman scored the third
Pretty quiet out of the Phoenix camp. Would have thought they would have some more pre season games happening. Even if 5 players are in AW squad. Be good to get the new visa players on the park together. Will they make another trip to Aus this weekend for more pre-season? Have they moved into the new facility at NZCIS yet?
"Hoyle's team (Napier City Rovers) have two warm-up matches for the league; beating Whanganui Athletic 4-1 and then this weekend travelling to take on the A-League's Wellington Phoenix."
Sounds like we might have a friendly game against NCR this weekend.

Just listening to the most recent Fever FM podcast and Talay has confirmed that Napier friendly which will be played on Sunday and then we have another friendly against Sydney before our opening game at Sky.
The Nix won 5-2. Not sure who our scorers were. But the guys that played are in this photo - obvs had a few missing with AWs and U19s in action.
Alby Kelly-Heald and Callum Kennett (far left) are our two keepers in the pic. Riley Bidois is there too. Not sure who that is second from left, might be Oskar van Hattum's brother Felix?
Sooooo many people saying Piscopo, Sotirio and Sandoval are huge losses and that we haven’t really replaced them. We’ve literally brought in Kraev, Sasse and Barbarouses, all arguably better players. We’ve also brought in a new import striker, brought in one of the best local DMs in Ugarkovic, and managed to retain a huge portion of our squad.
I seriously don’t see how people can think we’ve downgraded without just having the “Nix bad” goggles on.
I agree with you that some Aussies have “nix are bad” google on but surely without even watching Yan Sasse and Zawada play we can say we upgraded on Sotirio Reno and Sandoval? In fact, Zawadas and Sasses CV is probably less then impressive then Reno and Sandoval, however football isn’t played on cvs or paper.. I think nix should finish comfortably in top 6 and pushing top 3, but you never know.. Friar Tuck

That time of year again where all the Aussie pundits and forum posters pick the Nix to finish last or there a bout's.

A proper H&A season, with real home crowds, and hopefully less injuries with a less congested season, should see Nix do better for starters. And Reno barely played, so not hard for Kraev or Sasse to be an upgrade if they stay injury free.

I don’t really rate Piscopo and don’t think he ever did that well with us. But you are right that we can’t really say Sasse is an upgrade without seeing him play much yet, although I do feel confident that he’ll be an upgrade. Kraev definitely feels like an upgrade on Sandoval, although Gael did get handcuffed a bit with the squad injuries.
Barbarouses is definitely a better player than Sotirio, but Jaush was actually really good last year whilst Kosta kinda sucked, so that one is definitely a toss up.
And then whilst Zawada is definitely a downgrade on Hooper’s experience and ability, I’m confident that he’ll do a lot better than 2021/22 Gary considering how unfit and unavailable he ended up being.
If Sotirio played better than Barbarouses last season how can you say Barbarouses is a better player? One is at the end of his career and the other is at his peak. Kosta was better but ghat doesn't mean he is anymore.

Because Kosta has played more, achieved more, contributed more and performed better than Sotirio in every season of their careers bar one?
Sotirio’s best ever season in the A-League resulted in 9 goal involvements (G+A), since leaving the Phoenix in 2010/11, Kosta second WORST season saw him net 8 involvements.
Now I agree that Kosta is at the end of his career vs Sotirio at his peak, and I would personally had preferred we kept Jaush, but Kosta is the overall better player.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a better player than Gabriel Jesus, even if I’d rather have the Brazilian in 2022.
