2022 pre-season
Sotirio’s best ever season in the A-League resulted in 9 goal involvements (G+A), since leaving the Phoenix in 2010/11, Kosta second WORST season saw him net 8 involvements.
Now I agree that Kosta is at the end of his career vs Sotirio at his peak, and I would personally had preferred we kept Jaush, but Kosta is the overall better player.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a better player than Gabriel Jesus, even if I’d rather have the Brazilian in 2022.

Three consecutive wins and clean sheets!! Roll on next Saturday night!!#SydneyIsSkyBlue pic.twitter.com/yQo9hQegRZ
I still find it hard to work out how this is our most expensive squad ever. The Nix of 2019/20 would bury this side. Ugarkovic is a great signing and I think will end up being our best player but we have not replaced Davila or Taylor.

From yesterday's game, it was pretty clear our 6s weren't protecting our defensive line. One reason is that Talay would've wanted our defensive line to be deeper than usual due to the pace of Sotirio and Buhagiar. But when you sit deep, you need your 6s to be right in front of that defensive line which is what did not happen.

Your not wrong, that was a toilet seat winning team right there. Probably the best club side NZ has ever had.
F**king Covid.
The WPX will return to Eden Park for two matches in 2023.

The men’s round 20 and 24 A-League matches will be played in Auckland in March and April.
The Nix will play host to Sydney FC on March 12 before returning to Auckland five weeks later to play Brisbane Roar on April 16.
22nd January + 4th March have been announced as being played in Wellington (2 of the 3 dates left open for Auckland originally.)
No venue listed for 28th January game vs the Glory still.
Answering a few ?s re this update: usual draw difficulty worse due to concert season and covid catch up and usual summer season activity. Chch we couldn't find a date. Jan 28 we still don't have a venue. Aus venues just as bad which complicates. https://t.co/dqqaL0fBv3

Actually tried to get an @aleaguewomen game there! Raised it with @GrantSmithMayor who was helpful but his events people never came back to me. So that went cold...
— David Dome (@Domestar) October 25, 2022
I did. He replied that they spoke to the Palmy Mayor about playing a ALW match here but the council events team never got back to them /o\
Worth checking out the replies on Domey's tweet. He says why Nelson isn't looked at (logistics), why we haven't been back to Napier (cricket block) & why no ChCh this time. So nfi where Jan 28 game will be played, too early for students in Dunedin.
Stoopid PNCC events team
Hamilton - long weekend so stadium not interested.
Christchurch - not available.
Napier - doesn't have a drop in pitch so not available.
Dunedin - not mentioned but is before uni is back.
Nelson - not enough flights to accommodate the teams.
New Plymouth - not available and some 'contractual issues'
Jan 28th is a Saturday I see, so many Wellingtonians would make a road trip of it, even if an evening KO.
You'd need Metlink's help (which likely puts it in the too hard basket) to tinker with the Saturday train timetable, to make it work. But you might get 5,000 there.
But yes I imagine with logistics (TV setup etc), Jerry Collins stadium would make more sense if you were looking to keep the game in wider Welly region.
Edit: I have missed stuff, there's nothing on January 28th but there's one on the 25th and another on February 1st (amongst a bunch of other Super Smash/Ford Trophy).
Unavailable due to WWC according to Domey.
