Sorry but it should be a re-draw! With our ball splitting and Carney needing to look into the bowl to pick balls out, he could easily have seen part of the name on it. Also just piss poor draw etiquette. #redraw
City third time in a row what is this.. We've got the better of them the last two times and their squad has come under a big rebuild so could be a good time to play them while they're still getting used to playing together.

30th August would be nice. Socceroos play Mexico in Texas 10th September.
So small chance Arnie may ask Vidošić that thirty somethings Maclaren, Leckie & Behich are all on limited mins. I'm likely grabbing at straws, Arnie would probably want mins in their legs.
Stronger possibility any Olyroos at Melb City will be unavailable with AFC U23 Olympic qualifying tourney starting 6th September.
And of course the Nix could be understrength with some of their U23 guys like Surman, Old (if fit) playing in the OFC Olympic qualifying tourney. Wonder if Conchie will be allowed to play for the NZ U23s.
I know it's under different circumstances, but that bench is looking like it was during COVID times - Light.
Still, if we're hanging our hat on youth this season, then I'm excited to see what they bring to the table today against a top opposition. Happy with Rudland starting, was impressed with his half an hour or so against Peninsula Power in the first round. Whole different kettle of fish this arvo though.
Much better squad than ours that. Id be surprised if we win but who knows what can happen in cup matches. Only thing I cling to is that they didn't look that great in their last game against an NPL side - we looked worse though....
