Yeah, I saw that too but it far from confirms anything.

They got the Colosimo bit 100% right, so you'd think it'd be the same with Bridge.  But you're right - the thread title is "confirmed" so it's not quite....

yeh OOE, they are taking a pounding, someone said on here that if they'd come last they would be close to folding - might be starting to  happen anyway, hope not but it's going to be tough for them next season I'd expect

Sasa Ognenowski to Adelaide (story on home page)

I'd have been very happy if he'd signed for us

I agree Tigers, Ognenowski has been superb everytime I've seen him play.

He would have been good in NZ too, with his attitude - I dunno if you saw his 'press conference' yesterday where he was meant to announce his move down south.

There was a 'journalist' there who had obviously written something about him that was utter gobsh*te and when he saw him, he said he wouldn't talk whilst he was there. And there was no point him talking as he would just make his own stuff up and print it anyway.

When the POC wouldn't leave he said he wasn't gonna talk and walked off.

Utter brilliance!  He isn't one for putting up with crap.

(couldn't find it on Ewe Toob tho)

Adelaide with Costanzo, Valkanis, and Ognenowski will be solid at the back, that's for sure. Assuming they all work well enough together that is.

Valkanis may not be coming back - career ending injury by the sounds

what about the supposed 2 big signings to be announced by the phoenix?

we already have leo bertos which is a brilliant signing.

whos next!!

what about the word  "confirmed" - too keen P07, wrong topic and just encourages people to say start speculating about the likes of Elliot

Conjecture here:

"Nick Ward, meanwhile, has sealed a permanent contract with Victory as well. The 22-year-old midfielder returned to Australia in December, after failing to get regular football with English Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

Ward played five games for Melbourne before going for groin surgery. He expressed his delight in signing for the Victory and is looking forward to recover from injury." (goal.com)

To Queensland :

Tim Smits - Rochedale Rovers
David Dodd - Palm Beach

I think I read somewhere that the Dodd is Karl's younger brother.

Just heard on news that Durante and McKain confirmed signings.

Great news, a couple of rocks at the back, although it is yet to be seen how good McKain is.

Serious question - anyone on the site have friends who might have seen McKain play recently in Europe and could get us some informed feedback?

Great signings...gives us good quality and good depth in defense, which was our biggest weakness last season.

Rickie said they would recruit wisely. So far he has delivered. Throw in Bertos and we are shaping up very nicely for next season.

Excellent coup scoring Durante. That is a top signing, he's a quality player. Last season the Jets defense was tighter than a ducks bum!!!!

Always figured season two we would be as good as anyone else in the league. It's looking promising already. Lose the driftwood and things are looking up.

Oh that got to hurt!

But seriously he is very young at 22 and being a midfielder, there are always plenty of established midfielders in the mid 20s that would be tough to complete. You have to remember that being on the bench while the team gets about 44 league games a season whereas you only get like 23 games is a problem to young nick!! But he has just played 6 game for melbourne scoring a goal against us in their 3-0 win.

Had an excellent first A-league season in 2005-2006.

A-League Young Player of the Year: 2005-2006
Perth Glory Member's Player of the Year: 2005-2006

A good buy really.AllWhitebelievr2008-02-29 23:20:09

- Reinaldo to an unamed K-League side. QLD pick up $500k in transfer fees
- Marcinho has been released and heads back to Brazil
- Simon Lynch has also been released.

Also CEO John Ribot has left the club.

$500k... someone in Korea has more money than sense.
