No creativity, no plan B, ridiculous subs, no midfield, long ball rubbish, Ricki must go.  End of.

Fenton did well for about 5 minutes, Boyd never touched the ball, and Totori did well and showed why he should've been first on before those 2 by actually doing not too badly and being a bit more direct than we'd been for the previous 85 minutes.

The poor performances might be awful for our crowds but they are great for forum participation.

Wait, this probably shouldn't be on the angst thread

They need to start telling the fans what they think is acceptable and someone at the club needs to make people accountable for this string of poor performances and decisions.  This goes beyond the coaching, the whole club seems muddled right now, there is no clear sense of direction, just vague ideas that aren't being executed properly.

1. We've continued to re-sign players well beyond their peak years on what must be good money if we're at the upper end of the salary cap.  Players who have shown they are not in the class needed to win the league.

2.  We also seem to have stopped competing for the best aussies and we're only pursuing kiwis.  I think this is fine in general if those players are good enough but it means our imports have to be really good and they're not

3. We're now told we're pursuing a "youth strategy like CCM" but our youth programme is half baked at best and it's pretty clear that our best young guys are a long way off top A-League players.  These sort of programmes take years not months to get right so we can't just rely on young guys straight out of local club football and hope they're going to get better.  I don't think it's fair on them

Well I knew someone would be an asshole and shoot down the discussion. I guess this has come up a lot before, I just haven't been around to see it. I did put it in Angst for a reason.
5000 people in a stadium for 36,000 puts people off ever wanting to go. Trust me, I've had a lot of people say that to me. Even 10000 doesn't look that good when you have everyone spread out. The whole side behind the camera should be shut off at least.

I kinda forgot about the train station as well.

Wouldn't it be nice if the basin was for all cricket games, and Westpac was square? Not personally fussed about having a roof, I like the weather.

'I like the weather "  You are kidding?

I was talking about Newtown park after hundreds of thousands of dollars of upgrading.

Disagree with newtown thing, particularly when the line 'hundreds of thousands of dollars of upgrading' is casually thrown in. Not to mention you'd need more than that to deal with the parking and capacity issues.

If spending money is an option then slashing ticket prices for the rest of the regular season is surely the way to go. Buy one get one free, flat $15 for a ticket or something like that, welnix to take a hit and get it done. Hell maybe Gareth could provide from his own pocket rather than welnix as a collective- he's an excellent philanthropist, does this count as charity? In these economic times I would say it does.

Money would be better spent on this than paying to send a sick penguin to it's death at any rate.

The poor old angst thread needs some love... all the angst in the other threads and this one misses out.

It's just not good enough - I want more entertaining angst.

Just an idea, but we really need to get under peoples noses to attract them to the games.  Fever Friday was good but we need to do "great". We need to show our colours rampantly, in the faces of Joe Public. Prior to the elections, political parties would gather at intersections and wave their colours and ask for "Honk" for this party or that. I can see 70-80 nix (fever) fans on the corner of Whitford-Brown & SH1 at Porirua on the Friday morning before a game, 30-40 flags on poles lining the site & fans waving their scarves. You couldn't be missed, every single person driving to town from the north would see it, hear it and mention it to their mates at work. The same at various other intersections. Also, imagine 100 flags on 12ft poles, planted at 10m intervals lining a major route into town, both sides of the road just for a friday before the game. Anyway, somebody has to do something, cos clemenger has done jack sh*t.

This is exactly the kind of thing that we are trying to turn Fever Friday into. The fact of the matter is there are not 80 people who are willing to give up their time to do this, more like 20 or so, and only 50-75% of them turn up on a certain week.

There's a few Nix staff that subscribe to our Fever Friday email list, so the club know exactly what we are up to.
