But they did. The day after the WGA/Nix loan deal was announced, some guy was in the NBR saying it was a Nigerian-style scam. And wikifrauds.net has been up for more than two months.

That is what is amazing me. A Google search could and should have set off every warning bell in Wellington and a few as far north as Levin.
I was sort of meaning before that. In the last week the mainstream papers have picked up on it and become a lot more precise. Although it is true, Terrys due diligence was rather undeligent. Interest rates of 4% sound a touch unbelievable. An investor could get government bonds at that rate.

I saw Mike Godwin on some thread the other day emphasising that he was in favour of comparing people to Nazis when they actually act like Nazis, just against "Nazi" and "Hitler" being used as swear words against anything they didn't like. Trufax.Doloras2011-03-07 17:10:07

I've only met Terry once , at an open day at Westpac   2 or 3 years ago.I thanked him then for what he'd done for the Phoenix by fronting up ; more particularly ,  for what he'd done for me and my little boy.We have the BEST time at the games , win,  lose or draw.We get our kit on , sit in OUR seats ( same ones for 3 years) , same park in town....Same as is true for a lot of others here , I suspect.
The Phoenix is OUR team.
I don't care if he's as dodgy as f..k.He's given me memories of those times with my boy that I'll always have and no-one can take them away.
On my son's wall are photos of him with all the players he's met ,a  personal note from Siggy ;smack in the middle is him with Terry.I asked him last night if he wanted it taken down- : "no Dad , he gave us the Phoenix. He's sort of the off-field captain".  Couldn't have put it better myslef.

anyone else heard about a offer made recently to the club that got turned down? heard some interesting stories today from a few fairly informed people and was wondering what was common knowledge?

Sorry to be so vague!

Swiss Roll, maybe.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Most of it is an interview with Matt freakin' Nippert. Geez, that guy is just loving being the story. I would have loved Sainsbury to ask him: "Why do so many people seem to want Terry to go bust and the Phoenix to fold?"

Terry declined to come on, but said he will come on "when the $100 million comes through".

"Swiss" means "from an extremely shady Indian fellow with offices in Switzerland". Hope this helps.

I would love to watch him run away from the spotlight if a miracle happens and the money does come through.

Oh well. Let's hope Plan B is ready to roll come Thursday. And you can rest assured that if the $100 million doesn't come through, Terry will be more than happy to get involved in the Worldwide String Ali Syed Up From A Lamppost movement.

One of the more interesting parts of wikifrauds.net is that there's apparently an Aussie lawyer name of John Mullaly who shills for Ali Syed, making videos assuring potential investors that it's all on the up-and-up.

John Mullaly? Ha! That's a made up name if ever I heard one.

Can I just say at this point that I really should have read wikifrauds.net all the way through when I first heard about it two weeks ago. But I just assumed it was bitter business rivals of Ali Syed slinging dirt.

But interesting point - that Australian who came forward today said that Ali Syed told him that if he talked about the deal he'd lose everything. And yet Terry was allowed to talk about it a couple of weeks ago. Even Ali Syed gave the Herald some quotes. I wonder what the story there was.

I've just had a better read of the Wikifrauds site. Terry is in deep schtuck.

But something worth remembering in all this: no matter how bad we as Nix fans feel, he'll probably be feeling a lot worse.

Dunno.

Was too distracted by the huge wart on Nippert's face.

I have just watched this.

I wish I hadn't.

What a smug f**k Nippert is.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
