In other news, Terry just rang me. No sh*t.

I have no idea where he got my number, but he called to say a few things, and we had a good chat.

First he said thanks for all the support. He's been reading this thread and the forum, and he was grateful.

Second he said that despite the negative press he was still working on more than one debt restructuring option and that between now and Thursday he would be doing everything he could do either get the restructuring done or to get the IRD to agree to give him more time.

He said he thought they were going to agree to the longer extension in court today. Was surprised they didn't.

I can comment a bit on that. The guy that appeared for the IRD in court was pretty junior. It's entirely possible he hadn't received instructions.

That was all really. He sounded genuinely confident that something could be made to work. He definitely sounded like he was busting his guts to make it happen.

Rezpekt.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Thats a whole country of potential viewers lost.

Its in the FFAs interest that a NZ side is succesful.

On the other hand, the FFA propping up a NZ side would cause a bit of an uproar. I imagine they'd just ignore that, but any potential funding wouldn't last too long.
Coming in at page 11 without reading on yet, but.... NZF should do what they did last time and take on the license while they find a new owner. Waiting for the screams......

Either way, if you're still reading Terry, you and hope for you all the best.Azevo2011-03-07 22:10:13

He's got one of those faces. You know the ones I mean.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'm hopeful Terry can pull a rabbit out of the hat but maybe he should start thinking what's best for him rather than trying to save the club. Grateful that we are, but Terry, save yourself mate.

I think if you told him that, he'd say "WPFC is me" or something similar. His heart really is in the club, he'd be distraught to lose it. The survival of the club is very high on his priorities. That's the feeling I get. TopLeft072011-03-07 22:37:31

That song brings me back a lot of hazy memories of a very drunken football club tour to Southampton.

The fact he rang smithy and told him what he has said on here just made me think about how I've been feeling about this whole thing and now its clear to me there is only one person who should be the owner. COME ON TERRY Get the money sorted so we can enjoy more Phoenix seasons.

I have a dream that my children will one day live in a nation where they will be judged by the colour of their shirts and by the content of their character. (shirts, of course, yellow and black)

I have a dream today.

(Apologies to the mighty MLK Jr.)

but........................

(drum rolls, lightning strikes, Flight of the Valkyries Music, general impressive Weta effects, smoke machines etc......)

THE Prediction is here!

Me, Mrs Grandadi and the Grandadi Jr's WILL be at the Caketin in our Yellow and Black next season.
We shall overcome!

REMEMBER...

We are the Phoenix. We can beat anyone!

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

No, he needs the strung up from a lamppost treatment if even half of what wikifrauds.net is true. I'm sure Terry can get together with all those people in Australia to hire the best hitman on the planet.

But let's get it in perspective. If Terry has been ripped off, he's been ripped off to the tune of $1.5 million, which he really can't afford to lose but is not like his entire life savings or something. Certainly it wouldn't have covered the bills he owes.

I make this vow - if the Nix survive another year I will buy a membership, despite the fact that I live on Volcano Town and could only probably make a couple of games a year.

Nice one Terry. Now watch as those quotes from Smithy find their way into an NBR story, great journalism Nippert.

It's cool that Terry rang Smithy, but I really hope he rang Ricki, Dura, Manny, Siggie and all the lads first. Because it's their reaction that I'm worried about, esp. if the word that Marco is mainly jumping because he (or his dad) thinks the Nix is sunk financially is true.

Not true.

Th entire club is close knit and all the players talk to Terry and everyone else regularly.  Rest assured they will be getting the same messages.
