Hail the chief
Is that their mascot or was there no black knight costumes available?
Yep, that's Tama the Kōtare, sworn enemy of Nixie the Chicken.
The Black Knights branding is *not* taking off no matter how much AFC honchos and a compliant media try to force it, mainly because AFC do not play in black
Surely they must be getting close to cutting MILEUSNIC and Retre loose ridiculous they both take up a spot with about 25% of the season gone. In Retres case he has spent more time out than available must be great if you can get paid for nothing.
Excuse the possible newbie question, is the best plan of attack post-match to walk back to Penrose station and catch the train back to the city? Is that what the Fever are doing?
Few Chch people coming up and trying to coordinate...
TIA!
Yep, any other form of transport will be a nightmare - a slow trudge back to Penrose station followed by a train full of AFC supporters is still better than the alternatives.
More importantly, nice to see our southern contingent in attendance! I just came up on the same flight from Wellington as the team, so it was cool hearing the cabin crew announce “and good luck to the Nix, you’re going to win tomorrow.”

Aw, that's awesome.
After the Port's post today, we have to silence those pos more than ever!
Im actually not surprised AP im aware of a few who have given this game a miss due to the shark from last season. While i also know of others who said they will never go again to a Derby in Auckland due to their treatment last time. They are preferring to spend their dollars at away games in Aussie where mostly the fans are great to deal with
But seriously, poor away sales are bad news for AFC too - if we’re lucky a financial hit might make them realise it’s in their interest to encourage travelling support, even if they don’t care about atmosphere etc.
After their cowardly attack on our coach, I am once again renewing my pledge to donate to Wellington Free Ambulance if we win. I encourage anyone else who can spare a few dollars to join me
Enjoy everyone travelling stay safe keep a look out for each other and dont allow yourselves to be caught out by some of their shark. Make it loud and proud. COYN
I'm having regret I'm not going up from Hamilton for it now. I feel more positive about the game today than past games against AFC that's for sure.
Not far of a drive get on up here! Just down the road!
This is what makes it so so tempting
Just go man! I flew down on the spur of the moment for the first game of the New Year and never regretted it for a second. Only 1 hour and a half from Hams, sorry- the Hamiltron these days right? And the stadium is in the south? Buy your tickets, print em out, have a big brunch/lunch and get on the road!
Maybe a lot of the Wellingtonians are only flying up this morning? Regardless, hope to see a few of you at The Right Track this afternoon! I’ll be easy to spot, I’ll be wearing a Phoenix shirt. RR
Details for the march to the game, for anyone that hasn't seen it on Insta.
I see they are patting themselves on the back after ripping off an EPL chant slagging off Chiefy. Yawn. If any fever are there and can they throw one back at them do it.

What do we reckon, Edwards gets another start tomorrow?
Also, finally the anticipated clash between James and Cosgrove.
My guess is the winning team is left unchanged. If so, Edwards starts, but AFC will have noticed his lack of pace and will seek to exploit it, especially with the high line in force. I'd sooner he didn't start. That'd mean moving LKH or Armiento to LWB. Or maybe trying Loke there?

I feel like Edward’s is quicker than Armiento and LKH?

Don’t think we should be moving LKH and didn’t Loke seriously struggle last time out?
Is the Featherston the best place to watch the game??
I'd usually go to the game, but my mother is visiting and it'd be exhausting for her to travel to Auckland and back so we going to watch it somewhere in town.
Also, the away ticket prices for the derby are really scummy, but that's the type of club Auckland is. They have crazy prices already and they'll keep going up until people stop buying. Because the derby is popular, it will go up the most.

Thunder Road in Blair St is the place for away games they do specials if your in Nix gear
Well we just saw the worst and the best of the Auckland support here - a couple of AFC fans ran off with the Yellow Fever banner from the front of the pre-match pub, but an older fan just returned it so all credit to him.

Thats friggen lucky and sorry something that shouldnt happen someone should have had eyes on it.
Man, I like watching AFC and their brand of football but their supporters really give me the sharks. It puts me off the club to a degree.Simon B

Something similar happened in Wellington at the first Derby a group of them were at Four Kings and when the left they ripped the Phoenix shirt from the wall and took it with them. Was returned when someone tackled them about it
