Did anybody genuinely believe we would hold on after Rufer scored? Genuinely interested to see how many people are completely deluded on here. Wish I was. Would make watching us more tolerable
Not a fan of Adam Kersey by any means, but if you put your arms around attackers inside the box what do you expect? James, Eze and Edwards were all clumsy with their challenges

Well, if it is, it's not correct. The problem is entirely that existing rules are not being applied, and too much fouling is tolerated. Punish offences correctly, and the whole game will improve.

Kidding yourself if you think anyone else is going to be able to deliver much else with the same players at their disposal. The issues are deeper than just Chief and it seems as if Welnix are happy to just let things plod along as they are. Will i be at every home game for the rest of the season you bet i will thats what football fans do,something it seems some on here dont understand.
For the Nix to currently beat AFC, everything needs to go their way. James's red ruined it all. Least of all we never got to see Piper & Eze up front together.
But some great spirit and mental toughness shown this 2nd half.
The Nix need to win a few games before Xmas, to keep Chiefy safe. James sending off another result of playing with that high line.

Sorry I'm probably a bit too harsh as I haven't forgiven him for taking the Pen in the semi a few years ago when he wasn't even the Pen taker. We would have equalised and turned that fixture around. He's obviously passionate about the club and in some sort of form compared to other players.
Genuine question at what point is it acceptable to stop caring about this fixture? We knew we were losing heading into this game and I think we all know how February is gonna go mostly the same. It's not just 5 straight losses either, it's ALL 5 GAMES that we've lost to Auckland. I mean it gets to a point.
On a seperate note hell of a performance by Josh, he has nothing to be ashamed of. Haven't been so impressed by a nix keeper since 2023/24. Unfortunately his best performance was in a big defeat

absolute nonsense. Rufer continues to be a standout in this team. Would walk into most teams at this level

really enjoyed the game, one of the most entertaining that i've watched in the a-league in a while.
our situation remains bad, but i don't think the performance was too bad. we contributed to the game and the excitement. auckland just too good, plus we were unlucky quite often.
rufes, josh, eze all outstanding. lkh very good too, i can see why he stayed on. armiento couldn't get into the game, but i like the tempo he plays at. this rubs off on others. our intensity levels are way up on last season, that's for sure.
No shame in that. Last week and this week is a new beginning for this side, they never gave up.
I didn't seriously think we'd hold on but that was a big hearted effort from the boys to stay in that game till late on. Brilliant keeping from Josh. It's just a shame we are so lacking in really top quality players that can unlock defences. Apart from Eze and perhaps Armiento there is nothing for opposition teams to fear in this Nix squad.
