Anyone from Wellington been down to training this week and seen Hingert and Saka in the flesh? Potential? Yes? No? Maybe?

I haven't, but I've talked to someone who has and he was impressed with Hingert, not so much with Saka. Although he gave Saka the benefit of the doubt with probable jet lag.

would be cool.

otherwise if you're in auckland

"Meanwhile, the Phoenix will play in Auckland for the first time in three years when they take on Waitakere United and the New Zealand under-20s as part of their build-up to the new A-League season.

They will play Waitakere at Trusts Stadium on July 20 and the under-20s at North Harbour Stadium three days earlier. The under-20s fly out to Colombia the next day to play in the Under-20 World Cup. Chris Milicich's side will be without a handful of overseas-based players but he is keen to give his players a good hit-out."

Hold on... if the Nix are playing the U-20s, that means they'll be playing Marco, right? That'll be funny to watch.

Keen for a trip up to NHS on Sunday 17th. Who else is in?

Auckland Double Header For Phoenix
Thursday, 7 July 2011

Wellington Phoenix head to Auckland later this month for a double-header against the Junior All Whites and ASB Premiership champions Waitakere United.

On July 17 at North Harbour Stadium the Phoenix will assist the Junior All Whites warm-up for the FIFA under-20 World Cup four days prior to their departure for Colombia.

Three days later the Phoenix will take on Waitakere United at Hendersons Trusts Stadium as they continue their build-up to the 2011-12 Hyundai A-League season.

Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert sees the trip as important not only to the clubs pre-season campaign but also as an opportunity to continue building its brand outside of Wellington.

We are in the early part of our preparation and playing against the New Zealand under-20 team is a good opportunity for us to see how we are progressing, Herbert said.

It is also a great opportunity to take the Phoenix brand outside Wellington again because that is important for football.

We are also playing in Dunedin next month and will be in Auckland again for an A-League game during the season.

A full squad, plus some trialists, will travel to Auckland so people will get another opportunity to see the All Whites World Cup players in action.

I personally want to thank New Zealand Football for making it happen.

Junior All Whites coach Chris Milicich is also pleased to have the opportunity to test his New Zealand and Australian-based players against quality opposition.

The players will get a chance to play at an intense, quicker level of football than they are used to, which is crucial to our preparation, Milicich said.

It also gives us a hit out which will be at a level similar to those we will face at the World Cup with matches against Cameroon, Portugal and Uruguay.

The Junior All Whites match will kick off at 2pm with tickets priced at $10 and children will gain free entry if wearing a football shirt.

Was watching the boys for a little bit before, saw Daniel make a run up the wing and take a shot of which Paston nearly sent into the goal, then saw Leo take a shot from out of the box which the other keeper parried into the ground. Looked pretty good for the 5 mins I saw from the car. Though I'm surprised Daniel outran the defensive player on his wing

Think he played first half for Nix at Wakefield Wednesday night. What little I could see of him he seemed in good touch in a pacey first 45 mins.

I saw a comment in the media (possibly from Ricki) recently that the next game was early or mid August, part of build-up prior to Dunedin away game I guess.
