I like the "We want 10" double entendre.

I was thinking along the lines of "can't shake" having an implied double meaning.

There's no cure works too - I wouldn't have enough space for the tagline though.

I was actually keen to incorporate "Dunedin" into it somehow (didn't manage to find a way last time) but I am devoid of ideas on how to do it.

Dunedin would draw a bigger crowd.

How about something more political....along the lines of...

PLEASE FFA, DON"T KICK THE NIX OUT!!!!

This game will have a huge TV audience in OZ and NZ. We just need to remind everyone that the future of our club is in doubt. A political message on a banner slung right where the cameras pick up the corner takers near the YF would be perfect.
A banner like that would get widespread coverage on TV and in the other media. Maybe TV 1 and TV3 might even pick up the story.
Something like " Go the Nix" is OK but it would be just background.

How about:

We've had Free (yrs in the league).
We've had Sex (goals against GCU)
But we'd really luv a TEN!!!

Trip to Spotlight, Mr. Nolan?

Just got back from Spotlight. Geez material is expensive!!

Just spent $45 just for the fabric to make our group of 10 flags.

Not going to get too fancy - just don't have the time for it. There will be 5 flags in plain black, and 5 in plain yellow. They will be distributed in checkered formation amongst us. Watch out for us in Aisle 24!

Can someone please explain WE WANT 10 to me? Sorry to be so slow but what (if there is one) is the double or triple meaning? I get that we want a 10 year license, but what is the deeper/hidden meaning?

the gcu game earlier in the season bought chants of "we want 7" and its been used since. thats where the double meaning comes from.

So: "we want to win 10-0 against the Jest".

I like "WE WANT 10" in massive letters. Simple and effective and it can mean whatever the hell you want (could even mean that we want to see the jets down to 10 men?)

Thanks for the explanation. No offence guys but that slogan would require so much prior/inside knowledge that IMO it wouldn't be as effective as something like "10 MORE YEARS".

Can we perhaps work on this idea? Nix rhymes with "kicks" but not quite "kick" so maybe someone can help me spruce it up a little?

I'm not sure if FFA officials will be out in downtown Wellington on Saturday but there is a potential opportunity there. I think I'm going to be taking the Flyer bus straight to RYOS to put up a banner (IF I can actually come up with something professional enough - Cheers again to Phil at RYOS).

and also what about a mention to the wags.

That makes us seem small and insignificant, make it strong and lively.

FFA would definately understand it.  Most Oz fans would as well (the ones that follow the league closely)

Does it need a tagline (in much smaller print) explaining it to those not "in" on it?
