As the ref came off. Bottles went flying onto the pitch and at the ref.

The thing is.
It's a horrible look for us.
It's sh*t press for the nix and yellow fever. We got in trouble last year for it. It's disgraceful.

The guys who were arrested will pay the price. And to be fair. I want more to be sorted out. I am with the police

I didn't stick around to watch the ref come off the field. But if this is true, it is a disgrace. 5 arrests. I am ashamed to be a phoenix supporter.

Pathetic

The ref wasn't even the one that flagged the offside - f**king idiots. Also, Brown should have been sent off ALONG with Marronne so it evened out.

No throwing of ANYTHING at the ref or players is acceptable. Pathetic that you would think otherwise but i'm not suprised considering the sh*te you post on this forum.

what we need is decent refs and this sh*t wont happen - I can understand people being angry and wanting to take it out on the muppets who made some shocking decisions - I can't condone biffing full bottles though - there has to be some kind of accountability though or else this kind of reaction will always occur..

According to the laws of the game the offside call was (unfortunately) correct. The Adelaide player was marking Greenacre and Greeny pulled his arm.

No, what we NEED are people not to behave like idiots and not throw sh*t because something didn't go our way. Pathetic. Disgusting.

The thing is does anyone actually stop to consider how much this will affect the club?  This will completely overshadow the result in the media, undoubtedly it could affect crowds...JUST f**kING GROW UP!

If this happened over here in the UK, then the people responsible would be given lifetime bans, its the only way to stamp it out.

How can a player be called offside when he's not involved with, and miles from, the play (as was  the defender)? They had nothing to do with nor could they have got near the ball.
Greenacre was off side, but in the meantime Ifill got the ball and scored.

Still, the ref and in particular the linesman who made the above decision and about 4 other shockers were about 4 leagues below the players

He wasn't miles away, he was actually fairly close and had Greenacre not been offside (therefore drawing the defender) the defender could of potentially prevented the goal from happening

what the f**k mate ?

i never said it WAS acceptable. Because it is not.

i said i would take it MORE SERIOUS if it (the object thrown) was made of a more solid matter.

the rest of your silly ass post makes YOU look pathetic.

Some idiots are missing the point.
Throwing anything is unacceptable.

The refs are there for a reason.
No matter how much sh*t I give a ref or player. I still respect them.
The ref is there because he has been chosen. Not you.
The player is there because he was chosen.

You may not like them. But they are better than you. And they are also human beings. So don't f**king throw bottles or anything at players or refs. It's pathetic

You kidding!? Greenache was involved with the play in an offside position because he was impeding the last defender who may have influenced Ifill's shot. It was the correct call. It was unfortunate because it was a lovely shot, which even if the defender was able get there would very unlikely make a difference.

Yeah saw bottles being thrown. Its not good. I mean no matter how frustrating the refs are.

Its pretty Simple, don't throw sh*t. There were 8,000 f**ked off fans there, but only 3 or 4 threw bottles. But that is what people remember.

All Aboard the Phoenix/ All Whites Bandwagon!!

I would love to see a statement from the club and FFA about this.
You want people to respect us?!
How do you think bin hamman (or whatever) will think of it?
How do you expect anyone to take us seriously?

Thankfully sky's rubbish TV coverage did not show it...but no doubt cameras were rolling and it will end up on news...so dissapointing. Terry S gives back to Wellington and gets repaid like this from the fans... he will be fuming..

Anything thrown at a person with intent to harm is assault (be it referee or not), full stop.

Given where some of the bottles appeared to be launched from I will be well pissed off if the throwers cant be identified and named and shamed banned from this site and there names given to the club and stadium mangement. Its not the look i want to be part of.It needs to be stopped know because God forbide something goes wrong in November and FIFA wont piss around.

Given the amount of alcohol consumed and chants throughout of "all we want is a decent referee" its not surprising that muppets get carried away...I doubt if name and shame will work....their mates will think it was fair game...hopefully cameras recorded it.  Sore losers..pffft.  it mirrors other stupid incidents around sport at the moment.

I don't think anyone was at all surprised but it was f**king disappointing to see things thrown. Wish the FFA had the balls to stamp out all this sh*t, and tbh it starts with decent refs etc but fnas should never degenerate into this sh*t, when you cross the line to personal or physical abuse things are out of control.

You know we belong together...

To be honest I expected a lot worse than 3 bottles or so. Not bad considering the circumstances lol, imagine if this was in Millwall and Ifill had scored that. Full scale riots and the lino would have been lying in a pool of blood. Unfortunately people are always going to do silly things in these situations. No need to send a lynch mob out for them though. Just ban them from the fever zone is a good enough punishment.

DO you know what though monkeyboy, you'd never have something like this go on in England these days.  There is CCTV everywhere, if you step out of line you get banned for life
