So Paston is out for a lengthy time...

On the news on Radio Sport they mentioned that RH is looking for an injury replacement for him, and they also mentioned that he said that Bosnich was a definite option.

I say let's grab him! (shouldn't be too hard with those love handles!). A proven player of high quality.

Would be a good signing but I thought he was off to the States to do some reality TV show, that was why he didn't sign a longer contract when his guest one at CCM ended

Matbe we could entice him by selling the Nix as a reality show. Put all the players in a house together and lt the fun unfold - live on TV! Shame Gao isn't around anymore though.

Not Bosnich.  He's as old as the hills.

prior to the galaxy game the other night I would have said yes, but hearing how he reportedly acted at half time by bagging everybody makes me think otherwise.

he is old but he still does have what it takes.

Sign him up, even if just for a laugh.

So what ?  He's only going to sit on the (structurally reinforced) bench for a few weeks until Paston is fit and proved with the Mariners he can keep in the A-League.

Apparently he changed his mind about the TV reality show, so there is a chance he is available. Good cover I think, as good as any around,  he was classy with the Mariners

You're willing to take the chance of Moss not getting injured?  I know it's unlikely but if Moss was to get injured I'd rather it wasn't Bosnich who came on for us.

If it's not Bosnich, the best we're gonna get is someone like Tommich or Danny Milosevic. I'd rather have Bosnich personally

He's played A-League this season and proven up to the required level, he's the obvious choice if it's viable.

Bosnich isn't as bad as you'd expect, he still got the reflexes and certainly can command some respect when comming out of his 6yrd box! What striker would want to run into the brick wall!

I say as a back up to moss he'd be great!

Queenslander 3x a year.

There would be  nothing wrong with Bosnich coming on. I doubt if there is anyone around  now at short notice who would be available and be as good as he is

His age doesn't matter, remembering that keepers seem to go on for a long time. As long as he is fit enough, his experience will see him right.

I only saw 2 minutes of the Galaxy- Allstars game and it involved a screamer of a save from Bosnich off a volley from Beckham......get him on board!

We need someone who can command our defence (f**k knows they need it) and that is clearly area that Paston excels over Mossy...

That said - so does Bozza, a bit of aggro and attitude seems to work with our guys - and he's a competitive sob as well... don't we wanna make the four???  And there's also the pissy little seats at the ROF to consider, I'd start him

Never said I had anybody in mind, I'd just hope Ricki would go for another keeper.

I know Bosnich has played at a high level but he hardly epitomizes fitness and I'm sure someone like Bannatyne could do just as well as he could if not better.

And we need a keeper for next season so if possible (as in we've identified that keeper etc) we could sign them as injury cover and see how well they fit in with the team before signing them on for next season.

All of that in the above paragraph is, of course, assuming that it isn't Bosnich signing next season (but I think it's safe to assume he isn't signing next season).

Problems.

1, Any keeper we are likely to sign for next season will already be with a club... they are hardly likely to say 'go and trial in Wellington for a few weeks', particularly if they are at an A-League or NZFC side.

2, Banners has retired.

Same here. Milosevic is f**king hopeless.

Three for me, and two for them.

i'd love Bosnich to do a stint with us if nothing else his ballerina antics whilst the ball is at the other end of the field (when he was here with ccm) is hilarious to watch

Even if Bannatyne was still playing and at his prime I'd still have Bosnich everyday of the week. In his brief spell in a-league he showed he still has a lot to offer. Let's not get into making panic signings as back up keepers for next season when a Bosnich can fill that slot comfortably.

Given the low crowds we've had this year we need someone to boost pie sales. Bosnich is the man.

I'm all for Bozza joining us as injury cover......he's a class keeper who's been there and kept at the highest level.  Would bring experience into the squad as we get down to business, plus is a larger than life character who I rate highly and think would fit in well.

Heard a brilliant interview with Miles Davis a week or so ago, and he was fantastic, well spoken and a real story teller.

I for one would get right behind him, and know he'd build a great rapport with the Fever in a short space of time.

So what he threw the toys out at half time for Oceania, if you saw that lot play, you'd have done the same. He's still got that desire to win which is a big plus. Yep temp contact him for the rest of the season. I heard Paston might now be out for more than 4 weeks and TBH mossey was not that impressive againt Adelaide. despite Adelaide playing well.

the third goal was laughable- Bosnich is probably used to defenders who mark other players at corners

1. He has already proved he is still at A-League level this season.
2. If we need someone to boss the defense he should be able to do it.
3. He might not be interested in coming over as a backup only however, but Moss is leaving anyway so we don't need to keep him happy.

= bring him over, but as first choice keeper until Paston is recovered.
