Well, actually, Marco travelled to Sydney a few weeks ago, just wasn't picked. And he's made what 2 appearances, 1 at home, 1 away. Hardly grounds to base an argument that he is only playing at home.

On the subject of Jon McKain, is the fact hes been out of the team a result of an injury, or the fact he has been in discussions with other clubs because the time hes been out seems awfully long for a quad injury.

Nah, he's injured.  Not even at training most of the time.  He'd still be there if he was just dropped.

Plus:
A, The Phoenix aren't like that.
B,  His last game for us was one of the best displays ever in a Phoenix shirt
C, He's in discussions with the Phoenix as well.

McKain was at training today, and took a full part.

However, Paston took a nasty blow after a collision with Dura. Looked very tender and sat out the rest of training. Was limping quite badly. Browny was also out of training and Diego wasn't there.

P.S... Watch 3 News tonight, I should be on the Phoenix article.

Thats me as well. Browny was nursing his knee and only did a little bit. Pastons was a knee as well Let out a huge yell of pain . Plus Mulligan took a knock but looked ok.

The reporter thought we were wagging school  and she knew nothing about football she didnt even know we won on the weekend . Stupid Bird. not even a hot reporter.

Yeah, he did look very sore. Was a pretty hard collision and he was screaming in pain. At first I thought it was just a stinger but it doesn't sound too good. I wouldn't mind Gould between the sticks. He's very decent for a 43 year old.

Comands the defence really well. Well respected as well.

After the Perth game where he did well I have confidence in Crowther if we need him.

Yeah I'd back Crowther. That 8 yellow cards thing does concern me though. 2 match ban is nasty

You really have to be a numpty to collect 8 yellow cards in a season, especially with the standard of refereeing in the A-league.

Step foward Steve Pantelidis.  I think he thinks they are compulsory.

Yeah Steve Pantelidis has had 6 this year, obviously not the refs biggest fan.

No, he has 8 - he got his eighth against Sydney in R14 so he missed last week and this week.

Oh  my bad.

Wow 8 cards in 14 games is some effort.

And it wasn't even 14 - it was 13, because he missed a game when he racked up five yellows!

Just reading the start of this thread, team lineup predictions- I'm stoaked that there is pretty much universal aggreement on what our best 11 is now, the only real debate is over who should be on the bench. This is great, same team playing together week in week out must help with forming good conbinations and getting results!
Also loving that we're 3 pts clear in 6th with the chance of moving up the ladder this weekend, AND second best goal dif in the league!!

C'mon nix

Yeah things in the camp are all positive, but we've gotta put in hartd work to beat Brissy this week. And then to beat Melbourne to keep our record going is gonna be the tough call imo. Then a good Sydney team away agian. (well pretty much away).

Its really good that 4 of the teams above us are facing eachother which gives us a lot of ground to move up, but also means we have to secure the victory to take advantage

neither hearfield nor caceres deserve to gert dropped off the bench imo.

According to training:
                                        Crowther
Muscat           Durante                     Sigmund         Lochhead
                       Brown                       Lia
Bertos                                                          Daniel
                             Ifill
                                    Greenacre

No idea about the bench.
Paston looked very bad, could hardly walk. 99% sure he won't play.

Not the best sign. Hope he doesn't get plagued by injuries.
Ok then Bench for me:
Caceres
Hearfield
Barbarouses
Diego

If Crowther is injured then I'm sure Siggy could step it up and play keeper!

Nah I guess Diego gets the drop. Hearfield is the one closest to being dropped in my opinion. Wouldn't mind seeing Marco get another go

The next few weeks will sort out whether the Phoenix will be the real deal or not this season.

Roar away is always a tricky game, then Melbourne at home, Sydney in PN and then Melbourne away. Tough spell of games against two of the form teams in the competion. You would have to feel confident in the side the way they are going. Defense looks good and we are tough to break down. The Ifill led attack has been excellent and we have good attacking reserves on the bench.

With the table so tight 7 or 8 points might be enough to keep us in the top 6. Less than that and we could find ourselfes back near the bottom of the table

Bob Malcolm.  Ha !  MiniMass and Zullo, yikes.

Talk in Clogs circles is that Reddy is off to Sydney to replace Bolton and as such won't play again for the Clogs.

So Rojas in and Diego out? As well as paston being out?
So wonder if Rojas is travelling or what? Or if he can pick off Hearfield's spot?? It's gonna be a tough game and I don't know if Marco will get a shot here

Disco Troy will be on the bench, since he provides defensive cover as well. If Marco makes the bench, guessing it'll probably be for Costa. But not liking his chances, think we'll keep the same bench from last week (except with Gouldie).
