Don't recall it but you may well be right.

My impression however was that the referee had a good game (but not perfect if you are correct) however to say having a rookie referee was a significant factor in our performance and loss (if that is what Herbert is implying) - I don't think so.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Also extreme reluctance to yellow card professional fouls and dangerous tackles until late in the game.

But then again that doesn't exactly separate him from the rest of the A-league refs.

regardless, Lochead was still  out of position and the back four was cut open with relative ease, foul or not that is concerning

aye? Daniel lost possession stupidly. Van Dk slipped in between Lochy and Siggy. If anything it was Siggys fault- he had to cover the ball player still

And Crowther fell over. What saddens me is that when we lose the thread is larger.

Mitch Nichol's assisting David Dodd. Is this the most useless combination to have scored a goal ever?

absolutely right. David Dodd must be a strong contender for worst A-League player ever.
Crowther...

I bet the complaints department in any business is busier than the praise department

Stupidly? Not exactly the word I would use when it was clear he was pushed to the ground by the Brisbane player from behind
It's not like Daniel was holding the ball in the corner and lost possesion, he was put on the ground.

Daniel may have a 'reputation' for going to ground a bit easily, like a large group of players I've seen in the A-League, but that doesn't discount the fact it should have been whistled.

And all the rookie referees in the A-League we have had this season have been extremely reluctant to whistle freekicks or present yellow cards for clearly professional fouls, that most astute referees would have no hesitation in showing.

The fact the referee had the balls to show a direct red to an incident off the side of the field, yet let play carry-on with no yellows for other incidents shows how bad the standard of refereeing in the A-League truly is.

they were shoulder to shoulder with both going down weakly, but ive only watched 5-6 replays.. It wasnt the refs fault he gave up the chase to regain possesion at halfway though. Defense was poor shutting it down but daniel didnt help. Maybe troy could show him how to hold it up and beat his man. Loved the way he did up tommy oar.Yet again we got caught not playing to the whistle bringbacksmeltz2009-12-02 13:20:22

Agree Lochy had to cover the line- he wasn't responsible for the player behind him- the two centre backs who could see that player were.

That was a clear push from the defender, foul every single time.

The rest is fair enough though.
