The Cernak question is an interesting one. I think we sign him as a back up CAM or use him wider. He's shown that he's probably better than Smith, Sanchez and at the moment he's better than Fenton, plus he's an Aussie. But the Hernandez signing might make his decision an easier one if Perth can gaurantee him a starting spot.

You don't deserve him, give him back.

Who ate all the pies?

Who ate all the pies?

Fat Hernandez, Fat Hernandez,

He ate all the pies.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

If I was given the option of playing alongside Carlos Hernandez or Jacob Burns I know what I'd do.

I'd keep him on. Doesn't take an import slot, good player. Of course that depends what kind of wage he is commanding.

This is a great signing btw, just the attacking midfielder we've always wanted.

Cautiously optimistic about this, just a shame we couldn't get him on a guest stint for rest of the season as well.

I play alongside Jacob Burns.

So I could kick him in the nuts in the dressing room and say "Take that you prick!"

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Sounds like you help teach Jazzman Jr how to do it!

I have my reservations about this one. He seriously went off the boil in his last few months at MV.

Would have been thrilled to have him back at MV but I guess I now have a 2nd team to cheer for ... except for when you play MV of course.
Well done Phoenix and good luck Carlos!

That was more down to the inept coach and the fact he was getting forced out by Kewell's role in the team. Still scored a few screamers.

Agree. Victory were an absolute shambles at that point in time.

Interesting signing... is one of those signing that could be anything from a huge start to a total flop ...

happy as a pig in shit with this signing. Biggest signing since Ifill, if not bigger. Dani and Smith need to be on alert now, and realistically both and Cernak are playing for their careers, if not contracts. Now hopefully if we could fill in the midfield hold behind him and a right back we could be a very different team next year.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Cernak will pick up somewhere else if not here. A good young footballer. Smith probably needs residency to catch on elsewhere but Sanchez is done in the A League

Very pleased. Has potential to be our best ever signing if he can reproduce the form of 3-4 years ago, which is far from impossible. I do hope they improve fitness overall at the club though, many of the players this season have looked a bit unfit and Hernandez is not the type we can allow to lose fitness.

Stoked with this. A strong holding central midfielder and right back and we could be the goods next season. Carlos is definitely the type of player i feel who could instil a lot of confidence in those around him

LOL at all the hypocrites that bagged him all the years he played for MV.

Hardly. Everybody here knows how good Hernandez has been. God knows the Phoenix has been on the receiving end often enough. KFC related jokes just helped soften the blow.

Could be a very good good signing.  Great even.  But then again, I was happy when we signed Pantelis too...

I know, that joke was pathetic and unsophisticated.

it goes to show two things Barry

1: your average NZ sporting fan is very much not clued up on football

2: based on above, you could feed them anything and they would believe it. I lolled at 'Sanchez would one of the best around' comment and 'Carlos is always injured' (134 games? Hardly)
