Rufer gets a year (no link)

He's been trialing for Rudan, who seems to be a hard task master, and the coach thinks Rufer's got the goods. I'm really pleased for the young guy. Obviously worked hard and showed the right attitude. Hope he has a great season.

That broken leg is hopefully now well behind him.

Double leg break is hard to come back from! Ask any player who has suffered it . #JellyLeg

I wonder if he will play deeper under Rudan?

it’s a bit unclear to me where the last few members of our squad are going to come from, not kiwis obviously, we have one import slot and Aussie players are pretty well committed. What’s the actual plan.

This is what I was thinking at work today. It seems we won't be getting de Jong, Gulley, JHS, Payne, Howieson or TAHW. The remaining kiwi free agents I don't think would cut it at A League level and the Aussie free agents are not exactly inspiring. Headlined mainly by Carney and Djite, then it goes down from there. Interesting to see where we are going to get the other 6 or 7 players that we need

A tough competitor who really never had a chance to 'get goiing' with limited playing time. I hope he can take this opportunity to excel.

Just talked with him and Kurty at the All Blacks game. Both super friendly and keen to talk shop on their night out. I was surprised to see them at a rugby game tho

When moving to a new country, you want to soak up some of the local culture. Like it or not the All Blacks and rugby are a huge part of NZ’s culture.

From memory I remember Paul Ifill and/or his wife, stating when moving to NZ they looking forward to attending a few AB games - coming from rugby families back in the UK.

It's just like going to a baseball or basketball game in America really, you're going to see the very best at a sport

Looks decent. I think the his pace is what put him ahead of ADJ, by the looks of how we are likely to play that's pretty important. Excited to see what he can bring.

Underwhelmed... which is surprising since I have been keen to hear news of any kind for so long.

Hope he does well... might be one of those playes who just needed a decent chance.

Yeah it’s cool signing new players and all, but you’d think the Nix could find a better place to take a photo than a literal fudgeing toilet

Note the lovely roll on the right and the flush button on the left

Has to be massive incentive not to finish last otherwise this picture will be getting dragged out forever.

I thought the A League trophy was a toilet seat. Pretty much on the money then!

Too late. It's gonna be dragged out forever. He's a marked man poor bastard. Edit: so is he wearing shorts or not?

Personally I think they are going to be a very strong team and have a very good season.

I'm not so sure, surely it is easier to clone stamp out the toilet roll than it is to add one in?

Yes it would be easier.

No debate, clone stamp would definitely be easier.

Just because it's easier doesn't mean it happened that way. WTF would the club take a photo from a toilet? What a welcome that would be.

Permalink Permalink

That makes sense. But yet here we are, having a debate about whether or not the Nix staged a photoshoot in the crapper.
