Contracted Players - Return of the Long Pins

This would have to be one of Ernie's most bizarre signings, given the plethora of wide attacking options readily available at the same level. The kid offers no more than de vries and other nix fringe players (I've seen a lot of manly united this season). More of a worry to me is that we've also used a spot on a squaddie at best when we so desperately need defenders who can walk into or push for a regular first team place.

Pretty standard for this forum. I commented because miss GG plays for manly united and his signing surprises me as per my previous post. 

He will be available for us during international windows which kiwi players may not and is left footed so allows to change shape if needed.

I heard Ernie say the other day we are only going to play him in Manly - so he should be fine.

But giggles aside - did anyone notice from his highlights reel that he looked faster and a bit sharper in the Scottish League - ie - he may be able to step it up depending on the grade he is playing - so if he wants a pro-career in the A-League - we should see the best of him - or it's back to Manly.

So apparently we released McGarry from his 3 year contract to allow him to play because of stand down rules etc etc and now he's out for six months with a knee op.

So what happens then, had he been resigned yet... 

So parkhouse was namned NSW NPL player of year.

Can he do it in the wind and the rain of Wellington?

Still a good sign with Parkhouse winning the award... could be a great find.

The Chatham Cup final didn't highlight any decent NZ options.

...and the U-20s can't beat the Solomons.

'US Coll All-Star' a bit OTT, he made his conference's all-star XI, in a conference that is in division II. Does look like a good pick up for Hamilton Wanderers though.

I guess we're hoping Roly wants to stay. If Doyle has a stronger season we're likely to want to keep him as FBs seem hard to find. Everyone else really playing for a new contract really would you say? Harsh on Moss- but I think the standard of keeping in the A-league is high and even with his great service he shouldn't be allowed to rest on his laurels.

Also interested if we see Italiano, he did amazing by the sounds of it playing over in Perth. Sure it is a different level but the game time would have been good for him and he will probably either be pushing for a contract or looking to go somewhere he can get the starter spot.

would prefer italianos contract to run down and then  sail to get that 2nd choice position.  Italiano makes mistakes.

Apparently CCM wanted Tratt as well, there were strong rumors that he'd signed for them before our announcement. If that's the case, then we must have been compelling - him being from NSW and all.

More of a chance to cement a starting spot with us surely...

Less chance that his pay cheque will bounce if he signs for us...

So 23 players if I counted correctly, is that the maximum size for a squad in the A-League? I noticed we didnt sign any new players to replace Riera, must be relying on last seasons fringe players to fill the gap.
