agreed, a chant gets going and you couldnt quite hear it over those drums, and they were a fn distraction - not like us, of course, who are an asset!

I'm not joking, did they drum during the game? If so that's a bit sh*t, although one of them did let Beanhead borrow a big f**k off drum to lead a few chants with, bless her.

they drummed from kick off through half time and then stopped about 60 mins and started up again when we scored our first goal   totally inappropriate

Drums are good when used with chants. Not random thumping over nothing.

For those of you yelling at the Batucada to shut the phuck up, you are stupid!!!

Don't you realise that the Brazilan players thrive on drumming, they need the beats, its an important part of the game in Brazil.

So next time bring your own drum and beat off as much as possible. Felipe & co will thank you for it.

why does everone have it in for the drums?!! Nearly every south american league match contains drums etc, so why does everyone here find them "inappropriate"??? They added great atmosphere tonight.

The drums were pretty cool. They were a couple of decent bits of totty in the band as well. That's enough to keep them around if nothing else

Actually you see heaps of drums in europe at soccer games. You can easily count 100 drums but the crowds that you will get averages more than +25k.

The drums are good with the right football athmosphere. The fans need to know chanting and supporting the team during the game - not watching it like a movie!

You will agree if you know what i am talking about!

Let me be the only Vale supporter for drums - must be because I play drums myself. The atmosphere was awesome in those last 15 minutes - drums, YF and the crowd generally made it that way.

We have four Brazilians - it kind of makes drums compulsory.

i beg to differ, i personally think what you said is completely ludacris and borders on PC racism. when the drumming was on we played very poorly and i think in these cases we must chant, all 1500 of us

other comments, the drums were too erratic to make a "positive" impact to the game, instead when the YF was down and demoralised being down 0-2 and searching for the inspiration to chant our boys on those drums drowned out any attempts to start up chants in numbers and revive the situation. OK i as a musician like the drums befor the game but during  is not so good the only "good" drums (as someone mentioned above )are when they are used to keep chants in time......somthing we need to work on, i think those black vomit boys especially need a drum.....

ive always supported a few floor toms in YF to keep chants in time but its something that rips apart YF, half of us like em half of us hate em.

what a mad house after the second goal though hey zues i went nuts too

I like drums. Add bass and create tension.

Dont bag the drums.

Just dont over use them. I think today they were fine.

I liked the drums (and I liked them when I went to the Warriors as well). They were over on the railway corner during the game and I only heard them a little bit, they didn't distract me. I liked the one with the big drum, second from the back (Totty).

Yeah mate, I'm with you there, so long as they aren't over used then by all means beat away, plus I think the amount of noise coming from our boys was enough to even drown the drums out!
