The leading cause of death for football fans is things like this. Going on the fan forum, with your pie in one hand, maybe its a beer, then you read this, choke, and die.

Great experience for him and surely will be valuable to us come next season. Will be watching Sydneys game in ACL for sure...

great opportunity for dura, will benefit us in the long run.

Queenslander 3x a year.

I still won't support Sydney in the ACL, but hopefully Dura does very well.

It's funny. Sydney will be class with David Williams and Dura. Perform well, then when the A-League rolls on they won't have either one and will be pants again.

This is ridiculous. What a f**king circus. Will vomit a little when I see him run out in a Sydney shirt.

What will you guys say if he breaks his leg? Of course, was his choice and we would never not let him go blah blah blah but still kinda rubs me the wrong wayvaleo2011-02-21 20:55:53

Agreed, not really a fan of this move to be honest. I've never heard of anything like it before. Club captain going on loan to a rival club?!

I assume we get a bit of coin out of this deal?

I just thought of Dura wearing sky blue. I actually just threw up a little.

You're right, this is a bad idea.

Is it any different to a loan player in the UK?

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

It seems really un-Australian (insert irony emoticon here): bolstering a sh!t side with ring-ins for an important but end-of-season tournament.

Maybe a reserve player that gets no game time - the bloody captain of the club?

David Williams too - the heart and soul of the NQ teamvaleo2011-02-21 21:13:52

Name the last club captain in the EPL or SPL who was loaned out to a rival club?

Not too keen on all these ring-ins in the ACL.

A chance for Sydney to see how good he is and how well he fits in so they can pounce when his contract for us finishes.

He's got two more seasons on his current contract, so he's not off contract until end of 2012/13 season.

From the players' perspective who wouldn't jump at the chance to play in an "international" tournament?

But it's Sydney FC not the Chairman's XI.

Exactly...your team gets to the ACL, then you go and get players in on loan JUST for that tournament? Bizarre to me.

Im not too bothered about him playing if he wants to, but its seems like there are strange eligibility rules for this tournament, which makes it a bit of a farce.

This sh*ts just been taken too far. Its bad enough with players hopping around every season, but this?

I hope Sudnee blitz the ACL and Dura/Williams score 10 goals between them, so Bin Hamman has another one of his trademark bitch fits and puts an end to this transfer sh*t.

Reminds me of the days Tafea would put out a full Vanuatu national side in the OFC Club Champs about 10 years ago.

Three for me, and two for them.
