I expect to see Lia back for this one. Just not sure whether he'll go for Manny or Boxall at the back.

I can't remember another season where so many factors have conspired against us getting decent home crouds: bad weather, the Asian Cup interruption, the cricket world cup, being forced to play at a ground with a capacity of 8000, the world cup final, a suddenly overachieving Hurricanes, and now tepid FFA marketing and an unhelpful kickoff time. It's so frustrating.

Some might say that's making excuses but it's been incredibly difficult to capitalise on the Nix's momentum and success.

Add in a run of faltering form just when momentum and excitement were starting to build coming into the business end of the season. Those consecutive 3-0 home losses to Sydney and Victory didn't help matters.

Just got in from Auckland on the overnight bus for this one. Sleep-deprived, having narrowly avoided being attacked by an angry Frenchman who I had to tell  to quit making loud phonecalls at 1:30 am, and possibly having contracted tuberculosis from the kid behind me coughing all over me for 13 hours - the Nix better turn up tomorrow! Super fired up for the match though, I have a good feeling that we'll come right tomorrow. 4-0 win!

Top effort!

Out of interest - how much does the overnight bus cost?

I ask because I had never considered it as an option - would be interested in comparing it to the overnight train and flying.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

banstick

To clarify, I will be watching the football (I haven't watched every game for the last 4 years to miss this game). But it is inconvenient having to shift my eyes between my two monitors just in case I miss something important.

If we win today, we'll be in Melbourne on Friday? A-League website says TBC, TBC. Looking at pulling the trigger on some flights straight after the game.

You'll never beat The Salmon!

looking at about $1000 from Wellington (flights, accomodation) as it stands. So probably just enough to have to give it a miss.

We have to win tonight first of course!

There is a flight leaving 11.15pm via Christchurch arriving Wellington at 7.50 am. Of course your day at work would be a shocker.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Trains replaced by buses on kapiti line via stadium twitter, nothing from tranzmetro!

FFS. It's like they don't want people to attend events at the stadium.

It does make you wonder sometimes. Perhaps they would be better off doing their routine maintenance during the hours of 12am and 5am but then I guess the unions would get upset at that.

This Sunday style reminds me so much of the "Central Line". Always when a football game was on or during the holiday period, out comes the line shut down and maintenance.
