The Wellington Phoenix Board’s long term vision is to build a club that is self-sustaining financially and which achieves the highest standards of excellence for the football played on the field and the corporate governance and structure off the field. THE JOB
The Head Coach of the Wellington Phoenix has ultimate responsibility for the on-field performance of the football Club. A summary of the Job Description is given below:
• Develop and execute team strategies and tactics to meet the Club’s on field objectives which are consistent with the Club’s overall strategic direction.
• In conjunction with the Football Committee the Head Coach is responsible for the selection and recruitment of players
• Within the structure of the training schedule determined by the High Performance Manager, execute the training schedule
• Responsible for team behaviour both on and off the pitch
• Work with the General Manager and Football Operations Manager on a player budget
THE REQUIREMENTS
• Holder of FIFA Coaching Badge to A Level or equivalent
• Substantial experience in leading programme planning and administration in football
• Demonstrated ability to utilise sports science, sports medicine and technical data analysis to add value to the training and coaching process
• Excellent interpersonal/ analytical/ evaluation/ planning skills
• High level of computer literacy
• Strong links with international football bodies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
