Marquee coach please.

And when they turn up at Newtown Park, they will hop back in the taxi and head for the airport. We are kinda lacking in the facilities that any coach at a decent level is used too.

Alan Jones, there is a name from the past! I remember him coaching me as an under 12 Goalkeeper some 30 odd years ago!

Pappas a name being mentioned. Is Damian Mori a coach? Wow that's going back.

Greenie is a good solid club man.

Coming around to the idea that I wouldn't mind a foreign coach if it really made a statement about the future direction of the club and would attract fans, and if he had a kiwi deputy. We were mentioning 'Horse' too weren't we?

Can't see it being an English coach if they want to play total football. On the other hand there is a lot of support for English play here and CCM are a team of strong players as well as a technically gifted one.

Those former a-league coaches are a bunch of dog turds.

John van't Schip

Aurelio Vidmar

best two of the bunch?

stubbins is pretty highly rated over in aus by a few.

hmm hadnt even thought of branco - could have a culina double...

Mori was coaching in the winter even when he was still playing A-League.  Won something like 8 of the last 10 SA state league titles with Adelaide City Force.

Have a look at Vidmar's effort with the Aus U23. Knocked out of qualifying for Olyympics with 0 goals from 6 games. 6 games!

no thanks.

Has there been any statement from the club yet with any indication as to what they are thinking of doing or we the fans just expected to shutup and take what ever they give us.Going to make their travelling circus interesting if we dont improve.(Joking smilie)

Adelaide though...that was an impressive. They played some really good stuff and their ACL run was phenomenal.

If he thought Adeliade was a pissant town he's probably spontaneously combust under Gareth.

No they weren't. They parked a bus for most of the season. Not what the club is looking for.

Want total football...... go get a certain Mr Cryuff!

Well, you can probably cross of Rado (I think Adelaide made a play but was rebuked by Brisbane), and the owners will either laugh or faint at Van't Schip's salary he will be wanting. You did miss out Rini Coolen who I think is still living in Adelaide and recently settled his contract dispute with the club, but not hugely keen.

What was wrong with Merrick ?

Step 1. Pass to Muscat.

Step 2. Launch long.

Step 3. Archie and Danny Allsopp to chase.

(Actually not that simple, I'm being patronising).

I did have someone suggest to me that Merrick was a front and Muscat really the coach.

Sounds like the kind of arrangement the Phoenix have had since its inception with ricki and Ryan.

Allegedly

Val Migliaccio's Feb 2 article in Adelaide after Kosie's departure is interesting. Adelaide guys I spoke last sunday at Stadium say Mori's the word if it doesn't work out for Valkanis. Paul Okon's upposed to be on the potential list now too.

COACHING CANDIDATES

Mike Valkanis - In the box seat to  win the job. Has a plan, his training sessions are structured and he's  ambitious.

Damian Mori - He slots players into  his game plan and not the other way around.

Ernie Merrick - Well organised and  refuses to be swayed by the outside world. Sticks to his  philosophy.

Miron Bleiberg - An entertainer off  and on the park. Bleiberg's sides have alway been a pleasure to  watch.

Phil Stubbins - Knows the Reds club  culture inside out. A tireless worker with definitive  philosophies.

Ross Aloisi - Knows the club culture  and is becoming a fine coach with West  Adelaide.

Possible candidates - Diego  Pellegrini, Sergio Melta, Tony Vidmar, Joe Mullen, Alex Tobin, Adrian Santrac,  Zoran Karadzic, Nunzio Zavattieri, Sergio Farias, Diego Maradona,  Zico.

Agree with that, good on ya Smithy for maintaining a positive vibe. Lets now get behind the boys on Wednesday and show them the support they need.

Get ready Dunedin, the fight back starts now.......

WOW. Telfar acts like a right cunt. Invite someone on your show then insult them. That'll keep them coming back.
