Not sure Dario V is still at ATK. The ISL has 7 visa limit and Mandi is their 7th according to Wikipedia. Talk on the WSW boards that he came home after a couple weeks and will sign for Adelaide in the transfer window.

Mid-flight scare for Tony P has his plane from Perth to Sydney had to turn back and make an emergency landing due to an engineering problem.

Passenger Tony Pignata said he heard a weird sound before the plane turned around.

'The captain came on the PA and said 'you would have heard a noise, that's the landing gear not retracting,' he told Perth Now.

'We circled for about 45 minutes before we came in to land.

'I felt pretty anxious and a bit stressed until we landed. Everyone was quiet there was no chatter, people were playing with their phones and just trying to stay calm

Glad he and everyone else on board was OK.

I interviewed him for SBS Australia (in Italian) after the first Del Piero game a few years ago - lovely bloke! Also chatted to him on other occasions and he's a true gentleman.

Met Tony a few times when we first started out. We could not have had a better CEO that did so much in such a short space of time. His interactions with the FFA, players, coaches and fans were/are 2nd to none. I was hoping he might have taken over the FFA CEO role or be in charge of the Independent A League. A football man through and through and a very nice guy with a sharp intellect. A very approachable person with a good sense of humour to boot.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

i met tony p when i gave the club a mosaic of the club logo in season 1 for us, he is a top bloke and was always willing to help fans with any problems. he also lined up at a signing session to get a shirt i had sent him to get the last few players to sign, added the photo of him getting it signed, not sure who took the photo.

I wouldn't be surprised if Western United pick him up for the rest of the season.. They are in dire need of experienced midfielders, he is a Melbourne boy and Dura's mate.

Rojas, having left his Danish club, has been linked the past week with a return to Melbourne Victory.

Anyone know if this is a sure thing?

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/01/15/report-melbourne-victory-set-to-cut-pair-to-help-clinch-rojas-signing/

"Melbourne Victory will reportedly cut two players in order to seal the signature of Johnny Warren Medallist Marco Rojas.

According to Fox Sports, the Victory have mutually agreed to terminate the contracts of Corey Brown and Kristijan Dobras with immediate effect.

Dobras’ exit will open up a visa spot to accommodate the arrival of Rojas, who is currently a free agent following a brief stint with Danish club Sonderjyske"

Mickey Mouse club ?

Good to see Dobras sticking to his guns too. Would be tough on the old mind having to go through being turfed out mid campaign.

He is on a one year deal, so they could just pay him out what is owed for the remaining time on his deal. Victory is obviously hoping he will take less money.

Makes for depressing reading.

But on the other hand, I did not think Dobras was that good when playing against us, if anything he was just busy fouling our midfield players most of the last game. Had one shot on goal.   But good on him not wanting to be asked to pack his bags without a decent payout.   You could argue one of the HAL clubs could pick him till the end of the season if they have a visa spot, if their midfield is patchy.

Good luck to Vinnie at Perth. I really appreciated Vinnie's wholehearted approach. Feel rather sad that he didn't get a send off from our club, so I hope he does well.

Terrible news - 15 minutes after coming on for his Liga MX debut today (previous appearance was in cup), Pizzuto broke his ankle. Looks extremely serious, foot was twisted 90 degrees, and he seemed to suffer it simply by his foot digging into the pitch. Poor kid

Man that sucks - so unlucky! If the foot was bent so badly, there were likely ligament injuries - hopefully he bounces back soon - best of luck to him!

That is devastating, how dod his trial with Ajax go?
