As we are only treating this game as a pre season friendly we might as well play the same starting lineup that played West last week.

Andy Pengelly should put 3 or 4 past us.

Nothing about this post is true.

I think the Pengelly part is true. better anti jinx now then never.

Pengelly's record is impressive but when you find out whose record he broke, it takes a little bit of shine off it. I just dunno how good the Queensland NPL really is.

[Edit: Also, despite all those goals they are 5th in the Queensland NPL atm, 15th points off 4th.]

Bris Strikers have a good record playing at home, With the Nix jet lagged and missing key players like Fenton i predict a hard fought lose. 4-1 Strikers.

Wouldn't really call Fenton a major loss atm, with us playing a back 4 we don't know how he'll hold up there

Expect the academy boys to fill out the rest of the team but looks like this what we could be starting with

yup sure is. Might be watching this in hospital bed if wi fi penetrates the block walls. Will either cheer me up hugely or make the overnight stay even worse!

Pinched this bit of trivia from the Strikers Twitter account.

Which 3 ex Phoenix players have also played for the Brisbane Strikers?

McKain

Smeltz

Brownlie

Which shark FOX colour commentator used to lumber around for the Brisbane Strikers?

Also, the deceased lead singer of which Australian rock band plays in goal for them?

Hmm, I didn't have Brownlie. Looking into it deeper, the actual number is 5 ex Nix players have played for the Strikers. So two more to be named.

So with Davila and Sotirio out, I'm assuming we line up like this:

Marinovic, Cacace, DeVere, Taylor, TAHW, Rufer, Payne, Devlin, McCowatt, Ball, Waine.

Subs: Sail, McGing, Scott, Elliot, Sutton, Van Huttum.

It'll be an interesting and youthful line-up which looks pretty solid defensively, my only worry is there's not a lot of experience around Ball. Still think we should get the job done though, really excited for tomorrow night
