I want to know Asia and Oceania's confederation's opinions on all of this. Surely we shoud have a solid response from them before we go on to big bad FIFA Oska2008-04-17 18:05:41

Champion of each country's league.

The Phoenix will still have to win the A-league to qualify for the AFC.

The answer will always remain the same until the A-League allows the Phoenix to become their representative if they win the league. Until the Phoenix are champions of a league they will always be an anomaly like Cardiff in the world of Football.

Sorry to be picky but you don't have to win the A-League. Currently winner of pre-season + winner of final or if that's the same team then the two grand finalists. From next season when the AFC will be altering the champions league it looks like four teams might get in.

Also good question about why the AFC would want the Oceania countries...

Actually, that's not quite right...it's the minor premiers and the grand-final winner who qualify for ACL (or the two grand-finalists if that's the same team).

We don't qualify at all at the moment, whatever we do. But if we were eligible, then that would be correct.

We should form the CLFHT....Champions League for Homeless Teams.

Next season we could play Cardiff in the final...home and away...what a blast. Maybe there might be other homeless teams around the world who we would let join the CLFHT.
