I remember Domey dropping Real Madrid into conversation on the pod about whether Football United would happen again.

2B you obviously know something the rest of us dont - and i know Welnix said they werent going to actively push for these big clubs again, but given the recent news over the ditch this is either going to be something comparatively big - or exceedingly underwhelming !

I'm quite curious about this. Given that the Football United Tour wasn't a big success financially, and there haven't been any prominent rumours, I'd be surprised if the announcement was that a major European club is travelling over to play the Phoenix.

If I had to guess I'd guess that the "exciting announcement" is more of a "somewhat interesting announcement" slightly over-hyped. Would love to be proven wrong though!

Just random speculatoin, maybe there is another quadrangular preseason tournament happening that the nix are invited to rather than hosting. So the equivalent of Sydney FC in the Football United tour.

Tonight's announcement was set up a couple of weeks ago, so just unfortunate timing it has come on the same day as LFC stuff.

A Bundesliga team is coming! They have official DFB budget to expand their brands worldwide, like VFB Stuttgart did the South Africa pre-season training when Rojas started over there. It costs the Nix nothing, DFB is paying with the World Cup Money.

So... about the time that Ernie was away at the Oceania U17s? Are the Samoa U17s coming to tour? Because that would be massive.

We're now allowed to have a proper Home match in the FFA Cup?

"Fiji Airways are offering Phoenix fans a fare of $476 return from Wellington-Nadi to follow the tour."

That's great for Fiji football, and I'm sure they'll get a great turnout.

Will Roy play for Fiji or Nix?

"We're convinced there is another Roy Krishna in the islands somewhere, we've just got to find him and we want to be a part of the development of those players." There are plenty of players of similar ability in NZ for sure. I'm all for a tour out that way but I believe there is a serious amount of untapped talent in NZ.
