We don't lose Krishna anymore, he said no and Fiji Football are ok with that.

After yesterdays game I would say Gulley would start.

It's really not bad, we loose 6 players to international duty if I count correctly:

Krishna

WeeMac

Rufer

Doyle

Fenton

Rogerson

Of that only Krishna and WeeMac are big impacts right now, Fenton hasn't been performing, and Doyle isn't a regular started. Rogerson and Rufer don't even make the bench most times.

That actually shows you just how bizarre selection policy is, Hudson picks not just amateur players over professional players who are plying their craft in Europe but squad players for a team that is sitting 7th in the A-League.

I guess we can be thankfull that Moss has personal problems (sorry Mossy) and Siggy and Durnate have both retired from international duty.

This how NZF says: Thank you Phoenix!

Does Fiji know that? They are expecting him to captain the side for their game vs Vanuatu on the 11th. He turned down playing the first game on the 7th.

No maybe I am wrong. Thought I'd see it somewhere saying we had him for this game too

In commentary they said something about a quick turn around with him flying out to Vanuatu straight after the game, they could have said that he'd get back in time as well but I don't remember that.

Yeah, can't ever catch a break - big games always have issues. But you know what, Appiah isn't even making the bench right now- if he starts or comes off the bench then he's going to have something to prove, Powell is also gunning for that starting spot. It's an opportunity for players to stand up and make their mark.

Bugger.

No WeeMac and No Roy = no goals.

But we'll have a good croud, so that's like an extra striker, no?

No. More croud = an extra pass.

Oh No, Domey just on TV news this morning saying they want 15k for Friday night. Yeah right, we can encourage all we like but 15k on a Friday night? I'd love it but I am predicting about 6,300. I am starting to think conspiracey theories with the dates and times of our fixtures. Couldn't be on at worse days or times. Off season tinkering by FFA officials to ensure we fail?

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Still a pretty good number for this far out from kickoff. I think 10k + is likely.

It's annoying that Rob M has said "we want 15k" because now we could get a croud of 13.5k or something and it could still be spun by the media/FFA as disappointing because it's less than the extremely ambitious number we talked about.

Not sure how Errnie can lament a lack of strikers given earlier acquisitions and then not playing strikers like Powell.  You reap what you sow..

15k seems overly optimistic considering our other two crouds so far..

But there has been a lot of press, so perhaps quite a few part time supporters will show up and bump figures by 2 - 3k and push us over 10.

I think had we won our last couple of games and had momentum as well, 15k may have been possible, but not atm.

Domey ffs man....... Why didn't you say we are hoping for 8k? That way more than that makes good hgeadlines. Saturday morning will be "Phoenix fail to attract the croud they wanted" on Stuff...

The Phoenx need to be in TVNZ's ear, they should be promoting the hell out of this game on One News. A big croud will only turn up

if the media gives wall to wall coverage in the lead up to the game.

Yep - if Domey said "We want 9k!" the headlines would be "Phoenix exceeds expectations".

Marketing has always been a problem for the club. Given the intelligence and acumen of the Welnix it's staggering how little effort has gone into this aspect and it hasn't changed much. Even during this crisis, much more oxygen is coming from the Fever and fans than the owners. Absolutely baffling to anyone who has ever run a business.

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

There is massive work happen in the background not only by the Phoenix but other organisations that have brought into saving the nix. I don't blame Dome for asking for 15k for this croud, he does need to frighten people this time and get everyone to turn up because this really is a do it or you will never have a team. If we can't do it now, then we never will be able too... From what I hear over social media and the forums it appears a lot of people are coming including people travelling from out of town. I don't think it is unrealistic to break 10k this Friday and I hope we do get close to 15k, I think this might be one night parents will allow there kid to stay out late too.

seriously!!! your'e complaining that they have asked for 15k wtf . That's the bare minimum that Wellington needs to do 10k means nothing it doesn't help in anyway. If 15,000 don't show up then Wellington don't deserve the nix. We need an unbelivable atmosphere the fever need to be the most vocal they have ever been. Im coming from hamilton with friends who have only been to one game (newcastle playoff game) so when i said hey you have to come they did everything they could because of the experience of a football croud last time.

15000 people may get us 500 new members if we put on a show, can i suggest that the fever dumb down the chants? i know people have struggled to engage as they have no idea what the chants are ect. chant sheets are good but tbh nzers are lazy and cant be fked with anything with more than 5 words repeating. Lets chant the simple ones even if it bores you sharkless lets allow the casual fan to become involved easily lets get them all chanting!!

does that make sense? Lets cater to the non hardcore fans for one day lets turn them into believers and lifelong club fans

Can we just sort something out here. The size of the croud on Friday night has absolutely no bearing on the ongoing license discussions with the FFA. Those are all about money. Large sums. Not a couple of thousand extra punters buying $2 tickets.

I'm actually pretty disappointed that the attempt has been made by the club to make this about us. About croud numbers. When really it's about NZF and Sky. We box above our weight division on the croud front.

While it'll be great if we have a heart-warming turnout on Friday it will make not a jot of difference in the overall license conversation.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
