Yeah, I could spot it at the time, and that's what I told the rude hirsute fellow behind me. ;) Also: if I remember right, by the time it was obvious where the ball was going, Siggy was already in Pasty's way. I will bow to those who suggest Pasty could have perhaps called it earlier.

While that is not directly aimed at someone on here (and therefore not directly in violation of the rules), it's still insulting. Play nice.

For me, that's the equivalent of saying "No offence, but..." and then launching into saying things that are offensive. Let's try and keep things civil here.

Okay, the reference was to what I yelled at him on the day, which I've already apologised for. I was making fun at my own flying off the handle. I've removed it now.

O god, he is going to say more stupid shit to the media who will jump all over it.

How bad was it?

Ironically, when he was doing the interview this morning, many people were reading the doom post headline 'still not a peep from Phoenix hierarchy' hmmm

This is just getting silly now - he can't explain what's going on on the pitch, and they said last week he's here for 2 years, so all that's going to happen is he's going to say something stupid and cause mor trouble.

RH is in charge of the football side and he has to be the guy fronting up and dealing with that "performance"

He didn't say anything stupid.  Interesting note, Lloyd Morrison didn't like football but still helped save the Nix.  Gareth is leaving today on a big motorcycle adventure. So I guess we won't be hearing from him or seeing him at training.  The interview was done last week before the 7-1 slaughter in sydney.

Fair enough.  Someone from the club should be in damage control mode, you cannot have a team losing games like that without it being addressed head on, you just can't!!

Yet that seems to be what they're doing.

And it's just more evidence of the vacuum of leadership at the club.  Dome's gone right off the radar since Gareth started getting involved, Ricki has absolutely nothing to say about any of it - he seems to be on a different planet these days and says the same thing week in week out.  The next time I hear him mention about how great things are "building" my heads going to explode!!

Well, no. Dome is clearly in a more behind the scenes role and Gareth has taken up the role as a front man for the media etc. that doesn't really mean anything.

But I agree that someone needs to be in dage control and dealing with a 7-1 loss head on. The silence from the nix is deafening at the moment, and the media are loving it.

the CEO should be fronting the media. The owner can say as much as he likes but he's not the man I want to hear from. Dome should be the voice if the's the CEO.

And what is Dome going to say that Ricki or Gareth have not/are going to?

It would seem that media is not in Domes portfolio.

He's not. We is the GM. welnix flagged the CEO role.

Don't panic. help is at hand everyone. I'm playing Fifa Manager 13 and doing quite well. If the owners or Ricki need some help/advice, I'm happy to do so for 100k per season.

Sorry guys, just trying to lighten things up. I've gotten over the anger stage, besides I do quite well as a Manager so to speak!

For me, this clusterfuck lands at the feet of all three groups.  Owners, coaching staff and players.

The owners messages are mixed and are doing nothing to assist the situation with these confused messages rubbish like the travelling circus.

The coaching staff are always first for examination when form is poor.

Some players are woefully out of form.  Normally reliable ones.  They need to sort their heads and focus on doing the job they are paid for at the standard they have previously shown and people expect of them.

Even though I hate feeding his ego, and can see the smug grin on his face, this just about sums up how I feel.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

GM = CEO effectively

and someone should be saying something. Gareth is on some motorcycle jaunt, Ricki I assume is buried in training drills with the players so Domey is the only one left to say something. Unless they've got a media person now?

There is a difference between GM and CEO, that's why they changed the role when Domey was hired.
To be honest, a lot of the problems have stemmed from Gareth being too vocal in the media.

my rationale for Paston being over it all is that he didn't move for the second goal, he didn't say a word to siggy, the silence was notable.....and to be honest normally when you see him walking down the street or home with the kids (I bus past his place and see him a lot) normally he is looking fairly happy and jovial, lately he looks depressed!

Paston hasn't made any catastrophic goal-causing, game-losing errors so far.

If you want one of those Rob Green is available for transfer. Calamity Green took over from Calamity James.

agreed, Gareth has said some really dumb stuff in the emdia and at the wrong times. He should be leraving the football camments to the footballing staff, ie media man/GM/coach. The misunderstanding of what is happening is down to his commetns not really appearing that accurate - and his rebukes on the media for not supporting the nix just make us look like kids.

Spotlight on Gareth Morgan: Part 3

http://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/wellington/player/ondemand/garethmorganjan21part3

so listening to this, Gareth took on the nix as a "well I suppose" - he admits he dislikes football along with Lloyd Morrison (RIP). Even in this interview he says he'd take it on and keep it in Wellington - he even goes on to say taking the nix on board was a "hospital pass". My take on this says the nix are just part of a puzzle for the welnix crowd to start a sporting excelence in Wellington.

on field performance matters - and yet the nix since Gareth has been involved has gotten worse.

we were aiming to finish top and we aren't playing a style that will do that - f**k me, he says one thing and then does another.
