I don't think the hardcore fans just want attractive football at all, I think most would have the same opinion as Tegal.

Its that line from 'White Men Can't Jump' - Look good and lose rather than look bad and win. I'll take the win everytime thanks cause right now we are looking bad and losing.

After 5 /6 seasons I want the top result, winning the A League, but we wont get there playing Ricki Style. He is a defender first, an attacker second.

We need to be playing better football to get there, and that will end up being more attractive than Rickis old hoofball ways

you're right, we need to play a style of football that'll get us to consecutive grand finals. We need to play like CCM. Oh wait, bad example.

So they are better coached than us, or have better players ?

Better coached. Arnold took over a solid base McKinna left and developed them into the best team in the league. He isn't as flashy as Ange, but gets similar results with less resources.

Arnold - 78 games, 41 wins, 19 draws, 18 losses
Ange - 95 games, 50 wins, 24 draws, 21 losses

totally, if by some miracle we won the league by playing ugly football - I would not care! A trophy doesn't say how you won, just that you won!

Titles have been won playing ugly football...ask George Graham's Arsenal about it.  I wouldn't care if we won every game 1-0, we'd be winning.  However, with our appalling away record, we are never going to win anything until that changes.  And now even our home record is pretty average.

Attractive football is a bonus and I'd genuinely rather lose 6-4 than a timid 2-0 defeat like last night.

You know, I think we could start by simply not losing at home, like we have done for the last two seasons.  Losing to Sydney at home was terrible.

If we can build another unbeaten streak at home - however unlikely given current efforts, then that would be a start to get more neutrals along to games to watch.

To change our style of football, we need a fairly decent change to the squad I think, but that takes money I doubt WellNix will front up with apart from PR pieces in the media.

It's the home form that is killing us this season. Our away form hasn't got much results but its head and shoulders above the dross we have been served up in the past. If we could tighten up our defence both home & away, we could still get enough results to make the play offs. All out attack didn't work season 1, and it won't work now. Defence wins championships.

Defence wins championships.

Didn't you listen to Gareth? You're absolutely right though, I don't know how Gareth thinks you win trophies in the attacking third. Look at Victory, probably the best attack in the league but leaking goals is probably going to cost them.

1 draw and 1 win?  Isn't this possibly worse rather than better than the past few years?

2012-13 - Played 8, Won 1, Draw 2, Loss 5, Scored 10 Conceded 15
2011-12 - Played 13, Won 4, Draw 3, Loss 6, Scored 9 Conceded 16
2010-11 - Played 15, Won 2, Draw 2, Loss 11, Scored 7 Conceded 23
2009-10 - Played 14, Won 3, Draw 5, Loss 6, Scored 12 Conceded 22
2008-09 - Played 10, Won 2, Draw 1, Loss 7, Scored 8 Conceded 21
2007-08 - Played 11, Won 3, Draw 1, Loss 7, Scored 10 Conceded 23

Attacking wise, it is our best season away from home. Scoring goals has been our achilles heel. If our defence wasn't conceding so much, we would be getting better results.

The same Melbourne that has in their front 4, an Aussie Marquee, International Marquee and the best player in the league.

I'm not so sure really. 3 of our 10 goals came in our solitary win, another 2 away in Melbourne were late consolations, 1 in Adelaide was a late consolation.

As we can see though, despite scoring slightly more often, we are not any better in terms of results and could end up with a worse away record than season 1!

Sam Worthington wrote it up here as well, ironically proving Gareth 100% correct in calling him a "low level knocker".

Gareth Morgan attends Wellington Phoenix training

As if an owner can't turn up at training. I know for a fact Terry used to do this all the time.

Poor journalism by TVNZ and the Dom Post, as usual.

Part of a performance review perhaps?

Scumbag piece of journalism from Worthington.....fishing for a negative comment from the players to reinforce his Gareth interfering agenda.

As people have said Terry was a regular at the Nix training and that never raised a comment.

Worthington is a hack!....the sooner DoomPost gets a proper football journalist  like Piney the better.

It is a short sleeve shirt, so it's fine. Cargo pants with a proper business shirt would be wrong.

The silly thing here is that if there is a simple explanation why didn't the club just say it.  Creates another story out of nothing.  Ricky waffles on terribly doesn't he?  What does this mean?!!
