Would probably end up just watching on TV
If we become a travelling sideshow I will probably stop coming to the home games, I imagine my dying love for my local club would wane a bit as it would no longer become my local team....

I'm happy with 1. Unhappy with 2. Any more than 2 may be the tipping point for me.
What would a tipping point entail? Would you simply not go to the away game or would you also not turn up to home games in protest.
What would Yellow Fever members do if 5 or 6 games were taken away from Wellington?
People not feeling an attachment to the club and not turning up. Nothing about protest.

targetting periphial fans by threatening them?
Yeh like - you know how you were thinking about going to a movie and buying a couple of bottles of wine, or playing a couple of games of ten pin bowling then maybe watching the 'Nix on tele?
well you have to come to see the 'Nix at the ROF instead or they go 'pop'!

What Gareth Morgan said, see http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/6305051/Morgan-Fans-demanding-Phoenix-hit-the-road:
"Let's get it in perspective. We're talking about moving one more game. We're not talking any more than that and we would see how that goes."
Next season one home game would definitely be played outside Wellington.
The possibility of a second was being considered, but he was trying to avoid that happening.
"What I'm trying to do here is get the guys to say they don't want to lose even one game," Morgan said.
"Wellington has put a lot into this team. We have a marvellous team here."
Asked if there was any possibility the team could become the New Zealand Phoenix, he said he would "resist that to the end".
Surely we should be thrilled by what he is saying? Get over it people...

The final comment was also from Bwtcf but the Size 4 Font for effect is mine.. +1

all this talk of the increased presales for this game being down to Gareth's threat, is anyone willing to actually look at the season and realise that due to winning the last two away games, being 3rd on the table, a promo that the casual fan's interest has been awakened? Some may attend due to the threat but I doubt all of the extras who attend will be due to it.

all this talk of the increased presales for this game being down to Gareth's threat,
Show me where anyone said that.
No one has said that.
They have said that ALL of the things being done at the moment (This includes the Black Out The Heart Day initiative, the team winning on the road and the resultant buzz and good publicity, the Gareth's Geust promotion, the Daniel's 100th game/Brazilian flag thing, the publicity and awareness of the game - which has in part possibly been added to by Gareth's threat and the esnuing publicity and discussion) ALL combined do seem to be working and resulting in higher presales, and hopefully see a bigger crowd.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

You forgot the club/Capital Football promotion.
It's going to be tricky to work out exactly what was the successful formula to retry...

I think the blackout and the club deals will be the main draw cards. Buy yes, very hard to tell when there are so many different promotions.
