This week's pod spot on about the pay to play situation. It's a bloody disgrace. To ask these kids to cough up 2 grand at such short notice is quite frankly embarrassing. Bloody De Jong, typical Dutch.

Good effort lads - once again.

I reckon you should definitely look to add new voices when someone is away.

Pretty sure I mentioned this earlier, but I love hearing new opinions, even when I disagree with them
Ifill is usually great for insight but we probably won't have him every time someones away - like this week

we try when we can. Sometimes it isn't possible. It takes a lot of effort and time to record and edit a pod.

Yeah appreciate that - you guys are doing it outside of work hours unlike most footy pods where they are journalists or work in the football world anyway.

Only my 3rd podcast. Enjoying it but for some  reason I want to punch Smithy's voice. Reminds me of a guy I used to work with...

Sorry Smithy, I'm sure you're not punchable though

I'm totally punchable. Did we work together?

I think you're the first person to want to punch me purely on the grounds of not liking my voice though. I'm not sure whether this is a new low for me or a new high. I'm going to run with high :)

Thanks for listening despite my punchability!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I want to punch myself when I hear my voice so don't worry.
Doubt we worked together no. I think this guy got punched a few times as well...
Gf said News' voice sounded like a dodgy mechanic so it's not all bad

He was born in Aussie. That's probably the reason.

I used to listen to the podcasts but generally at night.  I've stopped doing it as I kept falling asleep.

Soz.

Another great podcast. Crazy how much better it is than the Football Hour on Radio Sport. Which this week had Telf and Sam confirm that Matt Thompson had signed for the Phoenix. Mental.

Would love to hear an interview with Brockie on how Toronto was.

One of the best was quite early on when News went into an expletive laden rant (probably about Burns - I forget who/what).

I do like listening to them but its quite sporadic these days.

Telf and Sam are not really on the ball. They really annoyed me when PLP came on the scene as every show for weeks would spend 90% talking about how to connect a TV to laptop or something like that - hardly any discussion on actual football.

Have you tried getting Fred de Jong or Mark Aspden on to talk about charging kids and NZF finances generally?

With respect to your post, missing a Sam and Telf wank-a-thon (I do like Sam so...) is not going to make you poorer for it. They just don't have any collective....... anything (can't find a word) to add to football.

I can't describe how much i feel about these podcast, so I thought id take a quote from a guy whose always been there for me in my life....

Homer: Wait, I'm confused about the movie(podcast)... so the cops knew internal affairs were setting them up?
Man: What are you talking about there's nothing like that in there
Homer: Well y'see when I get bored I make up my own movie(podcast). I have a very short attention span

But serious, cheers lads.

#InTheZone V76 featuring Wellington Phoenix FC's Chris Greenacre is out at www.yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts.

In a bumper interview episode Chris Greenacre joins the pod in the Fever Studio, Jeremy Brockie dials in to reflect on his time in Toronto, and Fred de Jong defends NZF's pay to play stance. Elsewhere the All Whites are winging their way to Saudi Arabia, the World Cup Qualifier is all but a sell out, and Miramar Rangers AFC claim the Central League title by the narrowest of margins.

Super disappointed with the audio quality this pod. Sorry everyone. Fortunately I reckon the content saves it. Fred is unrepentant and Greenacre is a flipping legend!

Is audio quality just because of the phone interviews though?

Only Fred's interview was a bit ropey, and that was obviously done at short notice anyway. Very good pod overall.

#InTheZone V77 featuring Paul Ifill is out at www.yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts .

Paul Ifill clips his multi-visit ticket by joining the pod once again to chat Wellington Phoenix FC?'s win over Sydney FC?. In international football, Ben Sigmund see red as the All Whites? melt in the Saudi heat, Mexico looms on the horizon, and Cape Verde put themselves on the football map. Back home, the Chatham Cup? reaches its climax as Waitakere City? and Cashmere Technical face off in this week's final. While Stop Out travel north to face Palmerston North Marist in the first leg of the Central League playoff.

loved how Ice was referring to the AW as 'we'

is it too late to naturalise him and try him at DM?

Little audio problem at the end this week.

Around the 41 min mark when you go into the Chatham Cup talk, the music is played over the dialogue. And then there is a small gap before you go into the interview.

Seems like the audio slice has just slided forward in line with the music snare somehow.

Had to go and read the UAE thread after hearing of Smith and Vaders disagreement. I think Smiths views were somewhat clouded on this one, but he is being more dispassionate in his assessment now the dust has settled. I think the 'hyperbole' is being hyperbolised. Someone says its the worst AW incident they have seen and suddenly they are quoted as saying it was the worst piece of violence ever in the world ever.

Personally I think it was embarrassing, crude, intentional and reckless. Comparisons don't need to be drawn and any off field matters are redundant.

Who has hijacked Greenie's account and started writing in full sentences with puncutation?

You're right though, on all points.
