Great pod - I've listened to and abandoned a few a-league podcasts and in the zone is definitely one of the better ones.
Enjoy the interviews with opposition fans as well, a good addition.
As far as real fans go, being a westham fan he surely means someone who follows a team on the other side of the world that has little or no connection to them even though they have a local team which happens to have a 100% winning record against their lauded London based club.
To be fair to LeSinge - he has quite a big connection to West Ham. You can use that argument against a lot of Eurosnobs, but not him.
Unless he played for them or coached them, he has no better connection to them than any other person who likes to flog a dead horse......
Horseshit.
That's demonstrably not true.
There are dozens of ways someone could CLEARLY have a better connection to them than someone who likes to flog a dead horse without having played for or coached them.
You could have been a season ticket holder for a number of years, and grown up going to the club's games.
You could have volunteered and/or worked for the club as something other than a coach - physio, ticket booth staff, groundsman, usher, president of the supporters club etc.
You could have been an owner.
You could have been a sponsor.
You could have been a member of or organiser a fan supporters group
You could have run or contributed to a fan zine or blog
You could have been one of the unusual above and beyond the norm fans travelling to the clubs away games all over the country and Europe (and else where).
What a complete crock.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.
