GEORGE PALADINI has the workrate we need in this team, ferrante did f**k all and keeps muffing shots left right and centre.

Right I agree now Ref was abit of a dick. Laybum just took the piss after getting away with just a yellow. Then he calls time when we're in the 6 yard box. And were those jets commentators rather then football commentators cos almost nothing was said about the Phoenix, it was like the jets were having run around the park by themselves.

Ferrante in a heartbeat.

Three for me, and two for them.

who knows thats  a problem - but with alosi on three and dodd on three  we will need coverage. I think he should get his chance then

Utter crap. Also, how did Elrich play for Fulham, rather disappointing from him IMO

Er it was his first 45 minutes. It'll take him a few games. I thought he showed enough to make me happy about the signing.

I feel like we need way more intensity on attack. We look too laboured - never really putting the opposition under that much pressure..

Ferrante has had FAR too many chances. Liked him off the bench vs Perth tho. Not as a starter though. Mind you with Felipe coming back he will be lucky to be a sub.

Whos back for us next week?Just Felipe?

to their credit Clebo and the lads alongside and in front of him did a good job of stabilizing things in the second half - credit to Ricky and the coaches i guess

We need to be more versatile i feel aswell. When we can see the opposition playing 4-3-3 for example as the Jets were today we need to adjust by shifiting someone like Aloisi or Johnson into a DM role. We didn't today and that's partly why we were getting opened up quite a bit throughout that game.

Just a thought.

Three for me, and two for them.

Mint it'll be good to have the full complement. I thought Elrich looked classy albiet out of shape.

Same here I don't think he deserves any harsh criticism.

Disagree there, Coveny is a good finisher. I dont think we should panic, a few things really didnt go our way. Who knows, if that challenge on Covs was given the red card as it deserved, and that last goal was given we couldve definetely taken home some points. Joel Griffiths is asking to be assasinated, what an ass.

sh*t!! QUEENSLAND JUST SCORED TO LEAD 1 - 0

Brownlie maybe?

Haven't seen much of him, but he looked good against Melbourne.

Cant score, cant keep em out.
Early goal again.
No decent balls in.
Starting to look like problems not being addressed.
Key players absent for a game not even played.
Last two weeks very Kingz/Knights flashbacks.
WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS!!!
Lots of away games in near future

i'm worried. so many things weren't good in this game.  we've now had three terrible performances; central coast, queensland and newcastle.

the one positive for me was that elrich got a good 45 minutes in.  he looks like one attacking player that looks capable of providing some structure going forward.

to be fair we used to have highest scoring rate in the league until the inbreds overtook us.

This week we were far better than last week.

Happy with the way Elrich looked obviously still has some work to do but reckon we will get good value from him.
Yet again we concede goals firstly started down the right, but whats with our central defenders not picking up guys coming through. Not for the first time this season we have conceded what can only be called soft goals through slack defending.

Seems we lack the ability to pull the trigger in front of goal. Also the ball is played into the box usually at chest hight and not always at the feet or not high enough for a header. Also a lot of the time our players positioning is bad with our backs to the opposition goal. The opportunity to shoot goes missing as our players try to get into position. So it boils down to skill, that and some lack of pace with a few of the squad. In this game though to be fair we had two shocking decisions go against us. Also Clebo was dead wood for alot of the game but did improve after the 1st half.

Still positives:

We have the best support.
This is the first season and we have a fine coach.
We have some great players.

I dont see any cause for panic to be honest. Don't see why people are bringing up the Knights/Kingz.
Next week, mark my words, we will beat CCM. We have, at full strength, the most exciting team in the league. I think George needs to be used more, and Ferrantes time is up( not just for his woefull shooting). Elrich is class and will show this is due course. Yes this loss is a setback but wer still the sh*t. I thought i might chuck this into the mixer too, we cant have more than two of Johnsen, Aloisi, Brown and Ferrante on the field at any time.

3 things annoyed me after this weeks showing

1)the standard of our two wing backs.I know they are out of position and its tough to adapt but nothing was going right.we lack depth there.

2)looking at vaughns foul when he was through on goal.definate red for there centre back who was bull allen's twin.and that nasty elbow to georgys face.poor form.the ref refused to send him for an early shower.or should i say early steak and cheese.and was this williams ref lad the guy who stitched us up earlier in the season?

3)the 2 centre midfielders.i know nothing couldve happened today but once again the two of them are far too similar.we are lacking the tim brown we need to actually keep up with oncoming attackers.theres too much space in there and on todays performance i dont no which 1 to leave out.probably johnsen when I look at it.

On the postives.

Elrich looked more than decent with some nice early touches.May have lost some pace but definatly looks the goods.

Vince Lia was arguebly our best today. Not bad on your debut

2nd best today but im looking for a definate step up next week.

No point harping on about the All Whites being released to play this game after Fiji was called off - there was no way that would happen - they have an absolutely crucial game on Wednesday night.  I'm glad they weren't brought back in.

Disagree with the lack of pulling trigger. Bar Michael Ferrante we are good finishers. Just not our day 2day.

Agree mostly with what you say felipe but for me the real concern is the number goals we are conceding through the centre of defence. The opposition seems to be able to get players free far to easily.

Like you I also liked the look of Elrich and Lia and think our performances will only get better as these guys get up to full match fitness.I also dont understand why so many seem to be in love with George.

Couldn't agree more - with Lia, Elrich, Felipe, Daniel and Brown all fit, George won't even get a look in.

The reason i like George is because he gets involved and is attacking minded. Gives 100% and is always challenging the opposition in their own half. He is no felipe but we cant afford players like Ferrante and to a lesser extent Aloisi, be missing in action for large periods of the game.

Elrich will be good with a few games under his belt. I thought we did ok, fatty Laybutt should've been off...Ferrante ain't a striker, that was a weird decision by Ricki, did did alright in general play I thought but not up front...Clebo was totally out of his depth at right back, most of the others would've been better imo. Still pretty tentative in front of goal (everyone).

We did alright, frustrating game though...

fair call ballane.the centre back pairing are still settling in and there a few communication issues but look that will improve with the experienced dodd a calming influence on the youthful o'dor who was promise.give them time and we'll be fine .but im still a bit wary bout that central midfield.it kills me during the game

omg to the  idiot who were responsible for the  last  post on the prev page please kindly f off. there are no knights/kings flashbacks. There is NO. repeat NO need to panic or start to suggest we have issues not being addressed. o and to the guy on the last page. get a clue before u say players absent for a game not played, it was cancelled the day before fs.

there is no need to get worried. we were exploited where we had players missing, we have some key positions that were with the AW's, especially lochhead and Christie, smeltz also. It is actually looking good, The Mariners will hav eto be more than on there toes to take on smeltz, elrich, felipe, george, daniel. list can go on

Think Aloisi had a bit of an excuse today given the suspended sentence he was on.I reckon he also dosnt get the credit he should, because most of what he does isnt the flashy stuff much like johnson who i thought was good today as well.

Three games against the Jets (if you count pre-season) and no goals.  Are the Jets becoming our bogey side?
