No. Wait and see what Perth do on Saturday night - then better it. If a 1-0 loss is sufficient, so be it.

Just noticed that the final match of the season GCU v Brisbane is delayed on by 3 hours Sunday night (8-30 to 11:30). Hong Kong 7's, Breakers match and Malaysian Grand Prix taking precedence.

Tough choice for Sky, but takes a bit of the "Super-Sunday" thrill away (and hopefully our result will have made the match meaningful).

I know, I know, its serious!

Breakers?  they've already won the minor premiership who cares if they win their remaining games of the season or not?  Oh that's right probably Andrew Mulligan.

The chance of playing the Jets just got a whole lot higher. If we come third and they draw with Sydney, or we come fourth and they beat Sydney, we play them.

Ideal situation now (barring a miracle tomorrow against CCM) is that the Jets win against Sydney so we play them.

Also, this would push Heart down into 6th place, and they are the most likely to beat Perth out of the three teams.

Not going to happen, we can barely score 1 goal let alone 3.   We really do need to put in a superb performance tomorrow or we can kiss a good home crowd away on Friday.

Can be pretty optimistic about this so long as either sydney or jets win. Then Perth play heart and we get either.
Heart easily the most likely to get one over perth.

It just goes to show how badly we played last week against the Victory. They really are a poor poor side. They have the worst defensive record of any Victory team ever....and we hardly got a shot on goal. 3 goal win against CCM......hmmmmmmm! But that is the wonderful thing about football......history has shown that remarkable things can happen.

We've only scored more goals that GCU and Adelaide.  But have conceded less goals than every other team bar Brisbane and CCM.

I'm hoping like hell we can pull a fairly large rabbit out of a hat a have a big win.

Thats not entirely fair, MV lifted against us. They played probably their best game of the season due to various emotional factors, making up for their teams poor form in the last home game, seeing off Hernandez (maybe).
We were poor though, huge spaces left for pacy MV players to exploit.

Hopefully we can lift this Arvo, with Dura's century, the last regular season game, at home, finals around the corner, last shot for players to prove themselves...
I'm hoping for some magic from Daniel, if we are resting players he must get a look in.

Despite the Victory being poor all season, they still only lost 1 time at home. And despite this being our best season on the road, we have only scored 9 goals away.

Agree about the Heart being the best chance (out of them, Sydney and Newcastle) of beating Perth in Perth. We've claimed the maximum 18 out of 18 points in games against Sydney and Newcastle this season, and should feel very coy about our chances against either of those two teams.

Chin up lads. Same placing and points as 09/10. Off the back of our off-season that's a great result. Not quite the same sense of momentum at the back end of the season but that's because we did all the hard work in the middle.

I still think we're a dark horse in the play-offs though.

4th is an incredible finish given the offseason we had, potentially no owner, then the start of the season with no players injuries and red cards to deal with.

This season really has had some great moments, more than happy with where we've ended up. A little nervous for Friday already, would love to see Ricki be a bit more "daring" and front up with a starting team that looks a bit more like the one on the park for the last 20 minutes yesterday, dreams huh.

I'm still happy with the season. Considering what went on behind closed doors, the group has done well to make the finals. A younger team would have struggled (see GCU) to hold it together.

A little less hype for this season as opposed to 2009/10, although that was just a perfect storm - the finals campaign slotted nicely in-between qualifying for South Africa and going to the Cup itself.
