I am definitely keen to fly up for the Nix if they get a home playoff game. The thing I need to know is when to book flights for? and is it a bit of a guessing game.

Firstly... When do we know 100% what date our home game is? Is it after round 27? Or are the two dates pre locked in and then whoever finishes 3rd gets a Friday and whoever finishes 4th gets a Sunday for example?

Basically, do I need to guess what flights to book or can I make an educated guess or what? Someone must have some experience in this.

Cheers team

First week of the finals is 3rd-5th of May. The Hurricanes play at the Stadium on the 4th May, so we will probably play on Sunday the 5th May. I doubt the FFA would give us a Friday night game, it would make for poor TV metrics.

Soooooo if we're looking like finishing in 4th spot after round 26. Is it best to book for the 5th of may or wait till round 27 is done?

Just to say I was allowing for the goal diff for third. But if we keep scoring 4-8 goals a game we may be only 4 points off third, not five. :)

Let's assume Adelaide beat CCM on Sunday (and that's not a done deal). With our hugely superior goal difference I reckon we could conceivably sneak that home playoff spot with as little as a win over the Reds next week. That would give us 40 points and leave the Reds needing 7 points from their last 3 games. City would need at least 8 points from their last 4 games. Plus those two have to play each other which will help us, especially if they draw.

Don't want to tempt fate but a home playoff is right there for the taking now.

With 41 goals scored this season, we are currently equal with second most goals that we have scored in a season (with 2016/17). In 2014/15 we managed to score 45 goals.

I think the usual 3 points per win rule still applies.

That goal difference now compared to before the CCM game - who said we were a bit goal shy?

I certainly believe that there's 6 points up for grabs over the next 2 weeks anyway.
