Adelaide have 23 points from 24 games. The MAX they can get to is just 32 points. We are currently on 31 points. On the brink of playoff extinction. How sad...

We need only 2 wins to secure a place in the top 6. The Roar, Fury, Mariners and Adelaide wont be able to catch us regardless of how well they do. And we have two of them left to play... its going to be interesting and I hope it doesnt come down to the Mariners game...

Games remaining for the teams around us;

CCM; Perth (A), Jets (H), Nix (A)

Roar; Sydney (H), Adelaide (A), Perth (A)

Fury; Jets (H), Melb (A), GCU (H)

Adelaide; Nix (A), Roar (H), Jets (A)

The Jets have a dream run home (Fury away, CCM @ h & Adelaide @ h)

Perth have CCM @ h, Syd away & Roar @ h

Top 6 looking solid (Roar and CCM remaining games are tough - except Adelaide) but chances of a home semi not so flash (Jets have easier games) unless Jets lose today and we can front and do the business in Melbourne - then we have a chance.

I think with even 1 win we'll secure a playoff unless brisbane or CCM have a dream run of some sort. Better than 6th isn't looking likely though.

Oh, the irony - it was a pretty good round for us results-wise...outside of own performance.

None of the teams sitting in 7th-10th managed to win, and the odds of us qualifying for the playoffs shortened even more through none of our doing.

1 point kills of Adelaide, 4 to end NQF, 5 to finish Brisbane and 5 or 6 (depending on GD) to finish off CCM. Of course, if either team draws/loses, that also hurts their chances in a big way.

If we beat Melbourne we would be in 4th and Newcastle/Perth would have to do better in the remaining three games than us to take fourth. And so how important is Tuesday night?!

We soo deserve 4th spot, but probably not 3 points against Melbourne on current form.

I would rather play the Gc away than the Jets. Our style of play has been quite effective against the GC. If you shut Culina down and get in their faces they tend to fold. plus their defense is crap. WE could feel confident going to play the GC.
the Jets away is a different story....they are in great form(except tonight) and we would struggle away to them.
So its simple...finish 6th.....beat the GC. Then playoff against the Jets and hope for a miracle.

Mind you if we beat Melb we go into 4th on goal difference. From then on its 3 games each to play. WE should beat Adelaide in Chch and CCM at home. So then its down to the away game against GC. Ferkin exciting!!!!

Optimistically we will get there, but we desperately need to win one of our next 2. CCM have a good chance to get through, and I think it may all come down to the final game against them, at the Ring Of Fire.

True, it would, but it could happen, we have 2 of the top teams  Melb and GCU away and our away record isnt great.

I do hope the points are on the board well before the last game

This game is very likely to decide whether or not we have a shot at a home play-off. That's nerve-wracking enough.

Obviously would like to have a play off spot sorted by the last game, but if not then it would just add to the "end of season" atmosphere.

Just need to make sure it's one of those two scenarios and not a "dead rubber".

How to completely f**k your goal difference in one easy lesson - result - CCM now only need to match our points, not beat them, and we have thrown away our advantage over Perth.

Agree, much rather be in our position than CCMs.
Top six out of ten is a joke. Top four and a couple of also rans to make up the numbers.
Thankfully for us.

This.

I think / hope you are wrong.

We will beat Adelaide and CCM and the Roar will both lose - play-off spot secured after this weekend.

We have an outside chance of making 5th (probably an away play-off game at the Jets) but I think we'll end up 6th - away to GCU.

But who knows .......

If you lookk at the table closely you'll see the top 3 are clearly out in front, the next 3 spots, 4th to 6th are onle 3 points apart....that's hardly also rans....its actually a very tight middle of the table, unfortunately due to the size of the leage mid table may as well be bottom.

4th is still possible if we beat adelaide and don't concede, a win against GCU or CCM added to a win against adelaide would almost seal that, provided other results went our way.

when....not if we make the finals and if we win the first playoff then things get complicated.
coz the second playoff game is on Sunday the 7th march.
The All Whites will be in LA for a game against Mexico on the 3rd. Which of corse means that key players like Lochy, Siggy, Leo , Brown etc will be away all week probably only getting back a day or two before the playoff game.
We probably have a strong enough side to leave most of the AW's on the bench for the playoff game. But we will be the crap situation of having the coach away for most of the week before a very important finals game.

leaving out the bulk of the AW's this is still a strong side;
