come on boys, you can't be serious with elrich on the wing, his poor crissing has cost us points in the last two games.

Last game of the season = last chance before being shipped out or kept.

Last game that we need to win to avoid the wooden spoon! I don't think elrich is going to help.

Hopefully we get to see Aloisi v Aloisi, it should be a better scrap than Elrich v Elrich. Just DON'T get sent off this time Ross!!!

And when we face Nutcastle, we actually DO have the wrong brother!

Aloisi to spear tackle Aloise red card for Aloisi, not telling which one though! Apparently younger brother is quite nervous, cos Ross always beat him in backyard footy!

It's a more of a 4-5-1, it seems.

Just being pedantic.

It's more like 2-7-1.

I'm surprised to see Johnno left out of the squad posted on A League site. Covs out too.
Go boys! Lets' score a couple of goals! Daniel is due!

Is Elrich on the bench then? sh*t, he's gonna be pissed off.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

He might not even make that.  One of he, Christie, Felipe and Draper is to be omitted.

It leaves both of them stranded on 49 A-League matches......maybe forever......

Pretty sure it will be Draper who will be omitted. Ricki said he would give Draper game time last week and he did, and Costa will get his chance this week

Agree.  Seems odd to me that Coveny isn't in the squad and Draper is.

this is gonna be a tough game, central coast going for the championship and us the phoenix to avoid the wooden spoon, this is gonna be like a cup final. I hope perth get beat and we at least take 1 point just to avoid finishing bottom.

Great team....

Looks nice and solid at the back. I much prefer Lockhead at left back. His flanking runs and his combinations with Daniel were awesome back in mid season( Phoenix vs Perth 4-0)

I hope we don't expect too much from Costa. 17 years old...your first start in the A-League against the top team.....in a must win game. He'll be shiiting himself prematch. Just hope he does the basics well, keeps the errors down and SCORES A HAT TRICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Wednesday doing the basics well seemed to part of Ricki's feedback to Costa, to look to let the ball go early rather than trying to beat the man on every occasion (which, incidentally, may - or may not - partly explain some of Elrich's decisions)

Be intersting to see how Lia goes at fullback. A decent showing might help put him in the frame next season.

he had a trot there in pre-season, he's certainly quickish, seems to get himself into the right sort of spaces in midfield - and Rees could keep an eye on him for a few matches until he picks up where to be at the back

his tackling style can be a little 'unorthodox' at times (but he gets away with a bit- touch wood)

I'd prefer to see him in midfield - but if Ross re-signs and Timmo starts 2008 injury free, he might get more outings at the back

we'd still need to recruit at least two defenders though, surely

I'd love to see Brownlie get a full 90, this is purely an emotional thing because of his STFC links, but we've not seen him given a decent run.

Brownlie fully deserves a start and a chance at 90 mins, he's certainly played his heart out when he's been on the field.

Don't like the sound of Daniels ankle injury. Apparently he has had the injury for the last month or so which is probably why he's been a little below par recently.

He's such a vital part of our attack for this game.....especially with young Costa only having his first start. With no Felipe he really is now our main creative attacker.

if Daniel is out, i guess ricki can juggle things to bring Felipe in, it might mean shifting ferrante to left mid with Felipe behind smeltz or a straight swap Daniel/felipe

the first option would probably make our wide players less effective, given the developing quality of ferrante's service to the wide men Ricki might want to keep him central

keeping ferrante at centre mid would also give us more options for a quick break given his passing range and the apparent emphasis on width in the original line up

ferrante for Daniel might see us lacking width down the left

cmon Daniel, more ice, more pharmaceuticals ...... more magic on the pitch

I'm very happy about this lineup. Here's praying it works out.

Has Ricki been reading the forums?
