I thought it quite interesting that the commentators mentioned that the Heart tried to sign him, I hadn't heard about that before. I guess they wished they had used the visa spot on him now.

Won't happen.  The Nix are looking to upgrade their training facilities.

I doubt Heart were looking at him for a senior contract

How good was that back-heel? Pity the whistle had already gone (poor reffing) and Brockie missed the sitter.

Fuck this stupid game

Brockie had heard the whistle and didnt look like he tried very hard when he hit it, but that was poor advantage played.. happened a few times didn't it

Yeah at the game I thought he missed, but I watched on the box and he clearly heard the whistle and gave up. Sure he would have slammed it in. I'm probably not going to complain about that reffing after watching the Jets CCM game though.

Point is Louis was fouled but still had the ball in a good position. He didn't get in those sorts of positions very often yesterday so it was a shame the ref didn't let it go.

Thought Louis would have been justified going down when Matt Smith clattered into him just before the back-heel too. Probably a pen.

chance for leo to make a comeback ?

Unlikely I would think, Ernie subbed Boxall on instead. I would think Leo at RB is a bottom of the barrel option.

This.

He will need an op and probably long recovery or it will happen every game.

Three for me, and two for them.

Boxall was probably exposed last night more than I liked, and he is more of a central defender. Yet Ernie clearly knows something we don't (as usual). Either Ernie felt we had a game in the bag and could risk it with Boxall, or he felt Leo would have been more of a liability. But Ernie also said he was looking forward to Bertos re-signing for the next season, so go figure. Maybe it was an opportunity to give Boxall a taste of a real competitive game.

Who else could be a natural replacement for Louis without having to go to the transfer market?

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I like Leo and I do rate him . But I guess maybe he is suited to more of a winger . either way he could be boxall's  replacement/backup

Think Ernie sees Bertos as a wide forwardish player as backup/option to Cunningham doesn't he. Or did I miss re-read a quote somewhere. And Boxill is backup bench cover for CB, LB and RB.

Fair to say Ernie sees or knows things we don't always notice. If he continues this ability to identify each players best position and role, then we will be very successful. Look at Lia  !!

Good luck to the lad. So young and so much promise.

I have to ask how he passed a prematch fitness test. I'm loathe to point fingers because a player will always say 'yeah I'm good' but after popping last week from a previous dislocation, there is no way he should have gotten near the pitch.

Such a shame

depending on scans and stuff he may end up playing again - he'll have almost 2 weeks rest....I agree with you about playing the next game a week later - I guess though he is always going to be nursing it until he has surgery to fix the issue.

Well he is getting that now. That'll be another injury replacement and I'd suggest season ending.

how long recovery is shoulder surgery usually?

It's already been said season-ending as he's having the surgery... hence an additional injury replacement (Lochhead?) plus a month-long Caira replacement (kid), plus an Iffy injury/import replacement (striker/mid probable starter).

I hope he does come back stronger. His overlapping was showing some results. I hope the club look after him well whilst out.

I think we should look to get James Musa in on a short term contract. Can't be too many better options floating around domestically.

Permalink Permalink

Musa isn't really a wide back though. If we actually got him I would still prefer to play Boxall or Leo there so don't really see the point.

We have players within the squad already (Boxall, Lia, Bertos) who could do a better job at RB than Musa. Signing him would be utterly pointless.

Boxall or Leo @ RB? Would prefer a specialist but if none available then Boxall for me. He made a pretty good fist of it and tbh I think he is quicker than Leo now

Is Bindell-South going to get a look in? If not, when both wing backs are out, I'm not sure why he was signed. I'm interested in seeing whether we actually have a usefull player or not.

The fact you've not seen him would appear to be a rather large hint ;-)
