If the above is true and he does sign for Stuttgart that would be excellent news!! as for his dad being his manager why not have him? cheap and has the best intentions for Marco. Seems to have done alright with him so far....

Pocket-maestro Marco Rojas will jet to Germany on Thursday to complete his mooted move to Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart as the next phase of his career unfolds.
A deal first revealed by The World Game last week is all but done with only the formality of a medical to undergo now as personal terms between the club and New Zealand international have already been agreed.
The A-League’s Johnny Warren medallist, and also Young Player of the Year, confirmed his departure from Melbourne Victory after landing both gongs last week and will join the ex-Victory duo of Mitch Langerak (Borussia Dortmund) and Robbie Kruse (Fortuna Dusseldorf) in what is arguably now the strongest league in world football.
Rojas has been coy over his next destination with a clubs in England also interested but reports in Germany have now surfaced pointing to Stuttgart as the new home of the 21-year-old striker who netted 15 A-league goals and conjured nine assists in a memorable campaign.
Father and manager Rodi Rojas was reluctant to confirm that five-time German champion Stuttgart was the ultimate destination when he and his son boarded the plane for Europe.
But he did speak glowingly of the strength of German football as Bayern Munich marches towards the UEFA Champions League final after crushing Barcelona in its semi-final first leg and Borussia Dortmund prepares to face Real Madrid in the other semi on Thursday morning (AEST).
"It's a terrific league and any player would only benefit from going there and lifting the level of his game," he said. "Playing there would hopefully bring out the best in Marco as it would any young footballer with ambitions to reach the top.
"You also look across Europe and a lot if the leagues are in financial trouble and that can play on the minds of players, but that is not the case in Germany.
"We are very close to securing something for Marco and there a just a few little things to do before we can confirm anything officially."
Stuttgart is coached by former German international Bruno Labbadia and won its last Bundesliga title in 2006-2007. It is currently 10th on the ladder with 39 points from 30 games.

You have to watch this. Stuttgart is the home of Mercedes Benz, so Marco will be playing at the 60,000 capacity Mercedes Benz Arena.

Think it's going to be tough for Marco - will be interesting to see how he goes; I think Kruse is succeeding there in part because he's an arrogant bastard. Don't know if Marco has that attitude.

This is huge..I mean really really big. The Bundislige is argueably 1st or 2nd best league in Europe. Certainly first for crowd numbers. With the performances of Bayern and Dortmund you could possibly make a case for first in quality.
For a little kiwi kid from Hamilton this is an amazing step. He is now in the bigtime....to give you an idea Rojas's clips on Youtube have gone ballistic. One has 45,000 hits and another 36,000
OK if it is Stuttgart then we would not expect to see him in the first team. He will go into the Stuttgart reserve team playing Div3 or be loaned out. But the Bundislige has a great record of player development. They tend to buy cheap and develop rather than go for megastar imports. Rojas will be getting the best training that money can buy.
Its all up to him now. He has the talent. If he has the mental strength he can make it. Should be an interesting watch

One thing that is interesting is that in the stuff article where Wynton put his hand up to coach the Phoenix he also mentioned that he was involved in this deal, but that he had pitched for Rojas to be loaned back to Melbourne for next season. I wonder whether that is still part of the negotiation?

I did read that on the Stuttgart forums, Rufer has a bigger part in the deal then perhaps we are aware of. Rufer told Bobic Rojas wasn't ready for the step up. The Stuttgart fans appear to be upset over this statement because they think if a player is 21 and not ready he probably will never be. They also think Rojas would be better off playing with Stuttgart 2 in the third tier of the Bundesliga rather than A-league. I know that Bobic liked Rojas and wanted him straight away, disregarding Rufer's suggestion.

I want to manage your team next year, I have limited coaching experience, not that you'd know this from how much I usually have to say. However, I was a class player in my day and I have a lot of friends who i can tap on the shoulder and use to promote the club and source players from... and I will bring Marco with me for a year.

With all respect to Rufer, I don't think Bobic and Labadia need any advise from him. They will have their own plans, good for Marco. I like to see him playing him for Stuttgart.
