Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's with the sending of personal facebook messages? Negative or positive - still kind of weird if you ask me. Keep that stuff for on here.

And, on here, I hereby declare - Marco Rojas, a professional adult and public figure, I hate you.

You dont put a player who was cutting up the league and that everyone was drooling over in the youth team
Face it, one way or the other he'll be starting

It's a good point.Something leads him to believe he will play in the first team.Or why would he go?
I guess he believes he is good enough. So many questions.

^ That's my favourite so far. Short, to the point and nicely understated

My initial reaction was 'what a c**t' admittedly.

Throughout my time supporting the Nix (2nd season starter) I have not taken to bagging any of the players... other than Judas (better shopping etc).

That might be a recipe for mediocrity in some of the perfectionists amongst us (whom I doubt are effective people managers of whatever line of business they are in).

In this case I am extremely disappointed in the Rojas family's decision.  More than happy to stick it to them when they return to RoF.  They deserve every bit of hostility we can muster.

"Judas, Judas what's the score?" - you ain't seen nothing yet.

PS to all of those holier-than-thou posters saying have some maturity/perspective:  Go f#ck yourselves.

It is piss poor, but for heavens sake he is not bigger than the club. That's what is important.

That's just crazy talk. Marco was holding the club together, he was all we had left. Now he's gone, there's nothing. It's over, man. It's over.

Be nice if he came out tomorrow and said "I would love to play for New Zealand" instead of all this it's-up-to-Ricki bollocks. Then I could get all mature again and start wishing him the best whoever he plays for.

That wud make me a hole lot less angski tbh.  Becoz this YF scholarship thing wuz to promote young NZ players - not a leg up to Chilean international stardom, I presume.

I dont like it and am bitterly disappointed but really some of the comments are just to far over the top.As for wishing him harm that is just way out of line.

Do feel sorry for all the young kids who he had inspired,as he had become some what of a hero to many of them.

That is so true because the young fella showed all the other kids that "Yes, you can really make it and live the dream". Some of the younger fans really idolised him.

I wish him all the best for his future but as per my previous comments, I think this is a sideways move. Perhaps in a year if he had gone to germany, Spain, italy or even England then for sure. But this really has me baffled.

they could quite conceivably be signing him so that they can play in a different way, I don't think youre being very logical about this HN. If they've signed him they will have a plan for him

My post is out of context without Sanday's post I was responding to.

If the paper is correct about him wanting to play in the middle then it doesn't look they will change.  I've been thinking this through long and hard for a while now and logically it seems like the wrong move to me even without taking the Moss situation in to consideration.

Of course, all bets are off if the coaching changes and it's not Mental Kev in charge.

I'd actually forgotten that Cernak had signed for them too -a very similar player to Marco

Thompson-Allsopp
Rojas - Hernandez - Cernak

If Kruse goes, that is still one mighty strike force.
Permalink Permalink
about 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Cernak's got heaps of talent and improved a lot at Fury but he's not too bright in my opinion. Rojas seems to have a better instinctive football brain and certainly much better delivery. But it is mind boggling to me that someone (and I'm not really sure who) thinks he is going to have the goods to step into a central attacking role.

He'll have to bulk up and harden up if he wants to compete in there. Even the small blokes in the league of the type he aspires to be have some beef on them; McKay, Nicholls, Perez, McGee. Rojas is sensational when he's running at defenders wide and putting in inch perfect crosses but playing up the middle is a different kettle of fish. And if he can't cut it there it could be a long frustrating season for him.

Hopefully Leo has learned one thing from Rojas - not to be afraid to run at defenders and take them on instead of backwards passing. Sure there is a time and a place for it, but it is one aspect that leo who has plenty of talent to do so, doesn't seem confident enough to go for.

I must admit I was looking forward to seeing how many goals Paul Ifill would have scored from Marco's crosses.

Definitely has the talent to play in central attacking role. Yip he carved out up out wide but he can do the same in a different role in the a league. Forgod sake look how much he was able to do in his incredibly short career out wide. Im gutted to lose him, but surely you had to expect it.

Some people absolutely sicken me.

http://twitter.com/#!/FrancisNP77

This guy said to BlackCap Iain O'Brien on Twitter that losing Rojas is worse than the earthquake.

"indeed, whats going to have more effect, a city that can be rebuilt, or a marquee player we will never get back"
