I think this is why everyone is pissed off. If he went to another club overseas that will actually further his development he would've got well wishes from everyone. Instead, he f**ks us over by going to competitor.

The best response we can give to this is to go out and sign some high quality players and give the title a real shot next season.valeo2011-02-27 18:32:33

+1.
As long as it doesn't get threatening to his physical well being.

Good to see his dad sold him out with that "it was all Marco's decision".

Some awfully stupid and ill thought out remarks being made.
People just need to calm down for a bit.

Yeah..

"Marco! I went down to the Victory HQ. That place is f**king awesome. Much better than the Phoenix training grounds or Adelaide's, You wont have to travel different places over town like Wellington, Its all in one place! And its not a hole like Adelaide.. No pressure but I think Melbourne would be best"Stefan2011-02-27 18:39:46

true, there are some silly remarks but overall it just seems the fans are unhappy that a top young prospect is leaving the club. fair enough too.

Just some knee jerk reactions to basically the most exciting player in the squad leaving. Pretty understandable IMO.

He's a professional footballer there's not much difference is there?

the way some people are carrying on, as though he is unable to make sound decisions, amazes me though.

His father made the decision

Why would Victory pay top dollar and put him in the youth side?

One day, when I'm bored and decide to look through all the threads on this forum, and I find this one, I will laugh.
But for now,
I will cry.
A lot.

His parents have no affiliation to the Nix or NZ football at all.  I wouldnt be surprised to see him Capped by Chile very shortly (his father is probably one the phone sending out DVDs right now) - just in case he ever becomes a good enough player.  Although going to Melb is not going to help that at all.  he would have been better to have had another year at the Nix

You'll need a big arm to reach the benches on the far side from the Fever Zone

I propose the Fever Zone is moved for this specific game!

Don't worry, we can move the YF for a match so we are at pelting distance :)

Just like to point out, that people in Christchurch don't have water power or a home to go to. So please, think before you post your stupid little comments.

Bigger things to worry about than Rojas leaving.Scottishbhoy2011-02-27 19:10:49

I'm stunned. Not necessarily because he is leaving - gutted but not surprised at that. But to the Victory?

His dad states he wants regular first team football, and to play as a central attacking mid. Can't believe no-one has mentioned those two words yet - CARLOS HERNANDEZ. Completely different type of player to Marcos, but a shoe-in for the role that Marco wants to play. Carlos IS MV.

And on top of that, MV play the narrowest formation around, and never play wingers, and Marco could never really be an effective wingback. And he's never going to have the strength to be one of their holding mids. So, unless they decide to play Carlos deeper (which could be done, but eliminates many of his strengths), with Marco in the hole - well, I'm simply puzzled.

I had heard chatter of the Roar, and that would have made perfect sense. But Victory - I just don't get it.

I mentioned the Melbourne Midfield.

Although... Carlos is always struggling with injuries and fitness.
