I dont know why rikki chose mark paston, i thought he was all over the place, glenn moss is a far better keeper and to be honest moss should be the kiwi number 1 as well.

His performance was a disaster. there could have been more goals against, ok a given he made a few great saves, but look at the first MINUTE of the game, he was all over the place.

Why are we changing keepers so late in the season now anyways?? same thing happened at glasgow rangers last season, allan mcgreggor was doing a great job and one week he gets replaced by another keeper and the other keeper like paston let in a few goals and the next week mcgreggor was back in goals and has been for 1 and half seasons, but my point is this Glen Moss is an outstanding keeper and if werent for his defence then there would have been less goals conceded.

But releasing Paston for the All White games is good, he's hardly going to get tested against pacific nations. Mean time Moss is getting game for the nix and getting higher quality/intensified games.

I say tackle him in the face.

exactly santy glen moss has experience in the a-league and paston doesnt (1 game now) , i think paston should be dropped and used as a backup (in a dire emergency)

i question the wisdom of deciding Paston's keeping abilities based on one game

he's certainly failed to grasp his opportunity and I am happy for Moss to start v Perth - but that doesn't mean I would write Paston off

Can't really judge the keeper on the basis of a game like today. He didn't shine - that's for sure, but come on, every time Adelaide attacked they had the numbers and were always able to take a shot on target.

If we make a YF team and we play against a good team with a defence like ours (today) we can get a couple of goals in. It's just a matter of trying. The more shots you take, the more goals you'll get - it's as simple as that.

However I think Mossy should have played too.

whoever said that Paston should be the number one please stand up (looks in nightz'z direction)
Sorry but you shouldnt be coming off the line if you are not gonna affect the play ala goal 3 and 4.
If it aint broke dont fix it

But Ricki obviously thought it was broke, that's why he made the change...bear in mind that wind was a 'mare for any keeper deciding whether to come or not...

he played poorly tonight (particularly his judgement coming off his line) - but one game does not define a player. yes, moss on form should be in against perth. no complaint there. but he wouldnt have had an easy game today either. let's not write paston off just yet

what the!after one game pastys the worst keeper in the world?pull ur heads in.ok some of his decisions on whether to come out or not were bizzare but the two muppets(well one muppet, not naming names)in front of him were hardly providing good cover.simply run straight into (muppet) and ur odds on for a one on one.pastons a good keeper.world class save in the first half half 2.the result not his fault at all

bad decision to get rid of Mossy though, who has been superb.
He also shouldn't pad down free kicks a metre infront of them if he cant hold them. Cant see too many rights, apart from making one of the greatest reflex saves I've ever seen.

Agreed

Here I am.

It wasnt the best of performances agreed. The defence was one of the worst its been this season. How many votes has Dodds been recieving for MOM, we really missed him tonight and unfortunately Paston was left to clean up the mess.
Remember Moss has still let in more goals than anyone else in the league. Yes, i can hear you all saying that it wasnt his fault and blamming the defence but also remember that was most proberbly our weakest defence out there tonight.
I dont think he should be dropped after 1 game. I'm sure I could trowl back through lots of threads were  others have said the same about other players. I think he should be given another chance. The captain did say after the game that Adelaide was the best team they had played this season.

Now Alosi, thats another matter. He's had 10 games and done nothing. He's gotta get the chop now.

I didn't think Paston shone (he was dreadful), but Moss would have been just as bad. And that save in the first half, nothing short of brilliant!

You've been telling us that Paston was a better organiser than Moss. Regardless of missing just 1 player in the regular back 4, they looked a hell of a lot more disorganised than previous weeks.

The disorganisation perhaps came with a new centreback pairing with a combined age of 41 ..... guess he thought he would take the initiative and was off on his timing in difficult conditions.

I don't remember (but I may be wrong) Moss being directly at fault for any of the goals this season. I'd say Paston had a big hand in at least 2 of their goals tonight.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

id only say one.the 3rd goal.the free kick was hard to hold.and the last goal was yet again sum quality tracking by the centre backs although the ball through was a gem.id like to see paston back next week then i will make my decision

I'd put Moss at fault of the first goal against the CCM last week. Beaten to his right, low down - tough I know, but saveable (I think I've just made up a word)

Id hold Moss responsible for the one goal that Perth got against us....otherwise...good attack or awful defending. More often than not the latter.

I say tackle him in the face.

Yeah but had Steven O'dor...cleared the ball then it would never have gotten to Mossy

Well, I was all for dropping Moss for good reasons, and was pleased to see Paston in goal.

It was certainly difficult for him, and I generally thought he did ok.

It was the second goal that was a disaster for him, totally his fault and very poor.

It must be awful for Ricky to drop a goalie and then for the replacement to have a shocker, what does he do now? I think he has to stick with Paston now and hope that mistake was a one off, cos Moss hasnt inspired confidence either.

Quaker, find were Ive said that, you cant cause I dont ever recall posting that, others have though.

Pull your head in and get your facts right before you go having pot shots at people.  Heres one fact for you to start with, fat refs cant keep up with the play.

No I didnt, thats what goalkeepers are supposed to deal with. If you cant hold it, you knock it out, not straight back to the centre forward.
