How is that offside?? Literally 5cms if that. I think this makes a mockery of VAR and the offside rule. The rule is there so someone can't just stand in front of the keeper and wait for a pass like you do in futsal. You should be called offside if you gain an advantage by being AHEAD of your marker. If my nose of longer than yours or my shoulder is bonier then I don't have any advantage over you. If such a marginal call is allowed to be made, then it's a foul on Tim Payne as there was the slightest of touch on him too.

Aussie match officials, are just a bunch of CHEATING cnts!! To drag it back that far in play, they might as well go back to the first minute of the game. As soon as that defender tackled Davilla and touched the ball, everyone was onside. Just blatant Aussie match officials CHEATING YET AGAIN, Wankers!

and in the lead up to their goal, soft fouls given.
But we should never have let a player run through the centre of the midfield like that.
Gutted for Tomar- that should have been a decisive contribution.

Neither side deserved to lose but both teams defended poorly.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

It would have been a happy end for both teams as well as the a-league if the score was 4:4.  I can't see it being offsite, if that was offsite then the nudge to Payne should have called a foul too.  An awesome game sadly ruined by low quality officials.  The nix played well

Was he though? Like was he ACTUALLY in an offside position? I feel that if you have to pull out a fudgeing ruler to tell, then players should wear accelerometer impact stickers. If the tiniest contact is made by a defending player, then it's a foul. Change my mind

Fark- Cammy's goal and that last goal that was disallowed. Such a great game.
How'd we lose it?
Can't win headers?

Was watching my stream and my live football score app with soccerway pinged up with 4-4. Thought, farken get in!! Then flashed fulltime, 4-3 WSW. Nearly threw my phone through the factory roof.

You'd think it being football, that any offside rule would encompass having your legs/feet ahead of the 'offside' line. Not your f*cken shoulder. Give me a break. Woeful...

Rufer has done three things tonight, ball watched too much, passed back too much and tried 80 meter miracle long balls too much. Yes he is out of position but game watching is just wrong. He should have been dragged at halftime.

I think he was at fault for two of the goals, one being out jumped and one being out of position.

Yes a poor game from Rufer, but he was out of position. His pass to Davila leading up to the first goal was still class. Interesting call to leave Laws on the bench, and not move Payne (who also didn't have his best game) to RB. If you don’t trust Laws to come in as CB replacement, then TAHW should be on the bench surely. Taylor can't arrive soon enough. I think Rufer/Lewis is the best midfield combo as far as a tight defensive unit goes, despite Devlin's speccy.

Tough loss to take, but man what an exciting game.  Promising from the Nix in many ways. Hemed's best game easily, but he's still a bit polarising. Poor touch to give away possession leading to WSW's 4th goal, and ahhh fudgeing offside at the end. Ngoy did some useful stuff, admittedly against tired legs. Gone ahead of Muratovic in the pecking order??

Hopefully the Israeli cheer squad becomes a regular thing (along with the Mexicans). Nix need all the fans in NSW they can get.

Agree on both counts. Yet we did lose the game and shouldn't have. It's not like we deserved at least a draw but didn't manage to get one. We scored and it was disallowed on what I can only call a technicality.
Surprised fifa are making such good improvements to the game, lots of new rules that seem to work well and yet they've actually made the offside worse

Yeah it was offside, but imagine if it was against us and WSW scored we would be all celebrating.

Didn't help with Fenton injured and Rufer at right back... I'm usually a fan but Payne had his worst game yet. The good news is we have Taylor back soon.

Yup we need luck to go our way, not playing to badly. Surprising WSW are so high up the ladder.

It was offside, those lines are pretty precise. In the end it is fair decision.

Knowing our luck it'll be a roundabout like the greenlane one in Auckland, an then we'll be right in the shark...

Told you all WSW would be to good and to strong, I feel bad for Sail as the defense made it so hard for him. As for Hemed scoring a goal, well it was a pen and he needs to do more then that with the time he is getting.

Tough loss. We deserved the 3 points more than them. Unfortunate that Fenton was ruled out. Rufer left us exposed on the left and some very, very loose marking. We gave away cheap goals. But hopefully, Taylor can come in and tie up the loose ends. Hemed was excellent off the bench. Hopefully, he can be a regular starter now. Overall, pleased with the character and mentality shown by the boys today, never gave up until the very end. You see a lot of teams give up after giving up the lead several times. Thrilling game! Onto the next one! COYN!!

It actually depends on the frames per second of the video footage used. The normal 50 frames per second can easily miss the moment the ball is kicked. That can be an issue because player positions can move by several feet in the space of a frame at 50 fps. More accurate than eyeballs though.

WHy the heck wasn't both goalposts defended for the corner goal, too?  I don't get it.

Based on this camera that's 523m away, looking at this highly pixilated close up from a 45 degree angle, we can clearly determine he is 2cm off side.

In the clip the ball hasn't left the boot yet either.

I'd like to think with Talyor back there we win that game by a couple. But more experience and organisation should do us wonders. Someone needed to come out of the line for that 4th goal and clatter the player with the ball.
