Devlin and Fenton back. Questions over Davilla.

At least Piscopo looks fit and firing. Excited to see what he can do over 90 minutes

By luck managed to work out how to link articles again. Put your cursor up at the top of the grey area, an various options (Bold, italic, link etc) pop up.
Yeah, it is just the image files for the buttons not showing for some reason. On a PC you can work it out but on a phone it is probably very difficult.

Oh, can I be first to call this a "must-win"?

Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Any word on Davilla's injury. Was it a hamstring?
Guessing he will be out for 3 weeks if so.

Everyone focusing on Jmac and fair enough. I think our real danger is actually Connor Metcalf. Everything good that city do, is through him, Rufer or Devlin (if he plays) will need to be at their best to qual his influence.

It would be great to knock over the City lot. They had to get a late winner to beat us last time, and we didn't have Taylor and Piscopo.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

We don't stand a chance for a win. Useless thinking of a "must-win"

Oh, can I be first to call this a "must-win"?

People called the last match a must win and we didn't win so I assume we're out of the competition now?

We've got 5 games left so if we win all 5 we'll finish with 39 points. The teams we'll be competing against Brisbane, McArthur and Western Sydney will need 2 of them to drop enough points that 39 points will be enough, so theoretically its still possible to make the 6 but results will have to go our way as well as winning all our games

If we win our last 5 games we finish on 42 points.
So we are certainly getting close to last chance. If we can win 4 out of 5, then we are a good chance of making the 6. No pressure....
Be great to pick up something against MC and still be alive for the NZ games.

He's such an athlete, can contribute positively in all areas of the pitch in the same move.

2-2 draw, only because City go down to 10 men.

Hemed is going to drop bombs on the Melbourne City team, just like his country-men are inflicting on Gaza. I expect him to score a brace in a 2-0 away win for the Nix in-front of all the new Nix converts from North Caufield. FC

At this point sixth place is 1.52 points per game

That makes the target 39-40 points, so we need 12-13 points from the last 5 games. Loose this, and we will have to win everything, and hope that other teams drop points on the way in. Draw this,  and we will have to win everything, and hope that other teams drop points on the way in. Win this and well its pretty much still the same deal just slightly better odds.

Spoke to a few of them, they’re scared of coming because they’re worried if they fly an Israeli flag, they will get abused and threatened. Sad world we live in

Not funny. You'd hope in some little way, somewhere football could be used for good to reduce Arab/Israeli tensions. Stupid careless comments like those above don't help.

I agree, it's not funny. It's really sad to see what's happening in Israel and Gaza.

We have a very multicultural team and I hope it stays that way. I think in the current circumstances Hemed should put the flag waving/nationalistic celebrations away this week.

Still hope he scores a brace though. 2-0 to the Nix.

Definitely not a time to be draping himself in the Star Of David, post a goal. That would be insensitive.

But yeah happy for him to bang in a few.

yeah the whole thing is a mess, if you follow Hemed on instagram you can see he is very much for the Israeli cause, there's not even a hint of balance in what he posts, he's totally on the side of Israel being the victim of the attacks - which I find disappointing.

Hemed should be a little careful. Don't imagine Melb City have many fans of an Arab background (though there will be plenty in Melbs overall).

But the away midweek game against WSW in Parramatta 26th May, if this Gaza stuff drags on. There will be plenty in the RBB, who won't be shy to verbally abuse him or worse. Also the last regular season game against Mcarthur in Campbelltown. Could become an unwelcome distraction for the Nix.

I'm never been a fan of people celebrating goals with flags or religious gestures. I don't think Hemed will back down, he thinks he is on the right side and will support his community and country.

It used to be a league policy after the change from the bad old days of Aussie soccer. And the Liverpool blanket incident I have only read about.

It can put everyone in a tricky situation or worse talking international politics in a match thread.

We need to just get on with the game and win it for once, or we fade to grey.

Why would you be disappointed. He is an Israeli and obviously sticks up for his country. Perfectly natural

The Promised Land is the most complex land mass in the world bar none. You could debate who is right, and who is wrong back to the beginning of time.

But sorry Tomer this is not the time to drape yourself in an Israeli flag post a goal. Risks being an unpleasant ugly sideshow for the Nix, and ain't really what we are about down here. You can be a true proud patriot in other ways, without complicating things for your employer.

He scores another ten or fifteen goals and we win the finals series I’ll let it slide for that moment perhaps..! Would be torn, but I would be bloody happy if that happened so if he wanted to celebrate with the fans that came to see him then sure.

As well it’s up to the league to sort out rules and standards. Fair enough to celebrate with fans from your home country if that’s okay by the league.

I’d personally be happier if there were no country flags, but they’ve allowed it so far so we should consider that. It’s probably a good idea if someone asks him quietly not to in this situation, and for us not to get to worked up about it.

If we had a player from the US, and he was going on and on about "BIDEN RIGGED THE ELECTION, TRUMP IS STILL YOUR PRESIDENT, COVID-19 IS A HOAX, ANTIFA AND BLM BELONG IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS", I would expect Nix management to gently advise him to shut the hell up. Same with Tomer and his IDF spruiking.

Well Piscopo won’t score as frequently as him shooting from distance you’d think. Big tactical re-jig if we are going to make it and not fizzle out horribly.

disappointed might be the wrong word for it, but I would have thought that the nix's media people would have been on top of any potential inflammatory (1 sided) view points.
