For me, when the game is playing, you're the enemy. I don't care who you are, I'm not cheering anyone who is trying to stop us from winning.

Do we have a chant for Davila? I know he might not be playing this week but maybe do a chant at some point during the game to show our appreciation for him this season? Not sure if this works but we could use the Santa carzorla Arsenal chant and replace it with Uli Davila

We've got Tequila with the word Tequila swapped for Dávila. Good thing about it is we can repeat it over and over like we do with Entertainer.

And while I'm here, I'm anti-clapping Dura during the game. Especially in the 22nd minute.

If he gets subbed off in second half stoppage time and the Nix are winning, then maybe it's different. But otherwise I will be waiting until he walks down the tunnel after the game and I will give him an ovation.

If he is subbed off/post game is the proper time for it imo.

Yo, Cantab fan here! I normally make it up for one or two games a season but this is the first I've got myself a ticket in active support, will probably head along to the 6 pubs too. Keen to get stuck in and make a day of it given the occasion! Is there anything I need to know for active support? Chants to memorise?

A quick random stat:

This will potentially be the biggest crowd WU have ever played in front of.

Their best was 20,865 last season away to MV. Attendances have been a joke this season at home with their best, a 7k at home again to MV.

Bought a mobile ticket on day of general release and it said at the time:
"Please note: Tickets are currently on suppression and will be sent mid May. "

Still haven't been sent mine yet, have people been getting tickets, or should I be following up?

If you bought tickets with text pick-up, you should have received texts on that same day with links embedded in them. The links weren't active at the time of purchase, but are now, so just go back to those texts.

Didn't get a text at the time (have checked the number in the confirmation email and it was correct).  It's all good, will give ticketek a call tomorrow, assume there was a glitch at my end, sure it will be fine.

Is there any itinerary for a pub crawl?

  • Jaickin
Is there any itinerary for a pub crawl?
  • Yes indeed in general announcements is the post but see below
  • We're back.

The Phoenix are finally in town on May 22, and the Fever are celebrating in the only way we could think of, by hosting our first ever 6 Pubs of Payne! We've missed hanging out with everyone in real life, and since last years 12 Pubs never happened, we've lined up the next best thing!

We'll kick off the day at Rosie's Red Hot Cantina for a taco and a frozen margarita, and make a few stops before we reach our old friends at the Backbencher. After the game, join us down at Four Kings for our post-match celebration, complete with drink specials such as $12 jugs of Macs Gold and the other A-League matches on the big screens.

    Full schedule:

    11.30am - Rosie's Red-Hot Cantina
    12.30pm - The Featherston
    1.00pm - The Old Bailey
    1.30pm - The Backbencher
3.30pm - Head to Wellington Phoenix vs Western United at Sky Stadium
    6.30pm - Four Kings
    Late - Danger Danger

Grab your mates, join us at all 6 Pubs (or just the Bencher if you've got a 12.30pm kickoff in your own football match), and celebrate the greatest team in the world returning to the Ring of Fire.

    COYN!

Also from personal experience if you need a feed at Rosie's to prep yourself for the day (and I highly recommend it cause drink responsibly people) Monster nacho's are worth every penny. Came highly recommended by P Barnes who said something along the lines of "OMG the Monster Taco is amazing you need to get it, get it". Side note it is not a "Monster Taco" but a Monster Nacho's however after a heated debate between 7 people we majority agreed it should be renamed the Monster Taco as it is Nachos served in a Monster Taco shell.

I think so, the only thing I remember from there was the beers were average and well over priced. 10/10 do not recommend going there for a beer with the boys.

“Only New Zealand and Australian national flags will be permitted to be displayed at either Sky Stadium on Saturday 22 May or Eden Park on Sunday 30 May.

That's bold of you to assume the average joe knows the difference 🙂

EDIT: Though, this is coming from an Aussie so I'm basing this view on our civilians...!
