I know its still a few weeks (months) away but is anyone else keen to make Indigo the Official Curry House of the Yellow Fever on Tour Napier Edition on the Saturday night?

2ndBest El_Grap and I are off to Napier this weekend to do some reconnaissance for the game at Labour Weekend.
We'll be checking out our accommodation at the Quality Inn, and it sounds like C-Diddy is going to take us for a curry.
Do any locals have any suggestions for pre-match drinking venues? Walking distance from stadium etc etc?
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Any idea on how much the Bus tickets (Return) are going to be??
The Station http://www.napierbars.co.nz/Home-0.html is about 5 minutes from the Quality Inn and about 10 to the park. It is a great bar with good food at all prices. Has a number of big and small screens, couches, leaners, open fire, pool table, good selection of beers, garden bar and if you visit /ring the manager they can probably organise a free bus to and from the game. They do that for rugby matches etc. If there are a decent number of people, there is plenty of room without a bunch of cubicles etc to get in the way [unless you're in the restaurant].

Beat me to it!
Either this or book out the Nelson Park Clubrooms. About a 2 min stumble across the road to the ground...

And, in terms of walking distance from the Quality Inn, its probably 15 to 20 minutes straight walk - turn left, turn right and a straight line. Google maps reckons its 1.2 km and will take 15 minutes walking.
Quality Inn is 10 minutes to The Station [154 Station Street]
The Station to McLean Park is 15 minutes walk.
There are no pubs around the ground

We're the WELLINGTON Phoenix
And this is our Home

Cheers team I have flicked an email out to The Station. They sound like a good shout, hopefully they're keen to hook up with us.
What do you guys reckon about after the game? The official aftermatch is over the other side (is it called Ahuriri??) near the Bluewater. Should we put shuttles on over there, or head back to the Station?
Thoughts?
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Ahuriri please!
Mini Pub Crawl!!!

Ahuriri please!
Mini Pub Crawl!!!
Yes! we staying at the Anchorage so that would be a nice (mini) crawl...
Ahuriri [or where the bars are - West Quay] has about 5 or 6 reasonable bars and is considered to be the bar scene in Napier. There's not much in town by way of entertainment except a couple of Irish Bars and The Emporium [the Masonic Hotel]. I'd opt for West Quay for out of town visitors. The Thirsty Whale has a double decker bus that you might be able to squirrel to get over there but they'd want you to spend some dosh there and its too easy to slip next door to either Speights or the GinTrap.
Actually this will be a good weekend to be here to see how the pubs/buses work during a major sporting event. Its the first defense of the Ranfurly Shield so the likes of the Station and Thirsty Whale will be running buses to and from the game and the All Black test will be on the big screens at various places around town after.
They're not here to see rugby, they're here to see me!

Sorry if I've missed it - Looking to organise our tickets, but where is the fever zone?
Irony. I received my ticket for that game today, still waiting for my Season Ticket!

"Out-of-towners stay for the weekend!"
Napier roles out the red carpet and mayor announces city holiday.
Locals were amazed to see a group of Wellingtonians not only visit Napier, but check into a motel for two nights, thereby boosting the tourism industry by a massive 50000% for the year to date.
The good news only got better when it was revealed that more Wellingtonians or "fresh meat" would be likely to come and stay during Labour weekend.
A city council spokesperson said "They was real high fallutin'. The young one was purdy and the one in the middle smelled real good, like he was using soap. Ah sure hope more of them come soon, aahm a goin t' hav to git me some new dungarees and chains."

Visiting dignitaries are always news.

who actually went? It is hard to make out who it is in the photo, but it looks like 2nd Best, some wannabe hipster in a trilby (3 years after they went out of fashion), a pale looking Serena Williams and someone with no neck (Gladstone Small?).
All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight
Has anyone heard back in regards to getting tickets??
I sent an email through to Beth last week but haven't had any reply yet... ?

I got my Napier ticket via e-mail on Monday. I'm still waiting for my Season Ticket to arrive.
Anyone interested in JUST the bus to Napier, that will cost about $110 return.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
